The first chapter of my book tries to explain how to cast a chart and what types of ‘horoscopes’ were cast. The bibliography sends you to more specialised literature to help you understand its more technical aspects!

We’re particularly grateful to the @ec.europa.eu for putting cultural heritage at the centre of Europe’s policies and support our work. Herbaria are repositories of biodiversity, but also tell us much about lost ecosystems, social and political injustice, new ways to collaborate in the present.

It has been an intense few days of work; we walked and talked and made a lot of progress. Collaborative research of this kind between botanists, historians and curators is incredibly important to highlight the importance of our scientific cultural heritage for our present and our future.

We discussed research synergies among our postdocs, what we want to achieve in the next six to twelve months, how to plan our intervention and hire our artists-in-residence. But we also travelled to meet historians and curators. Thank you to #ElenaCanadelli and her Team in Padua for welcoming us!

The anti-Semitic mass shooting in Australia will cause a national conversation and policy change. We know this because the 1996 Port Arthur massacre led to significant restrictions on guns. The shooting at Brown will do nothing. We know this because it occurred on the anniversary of Sandy Hook.
