This is a propaganda masterpiece. Tens of millions of people who know nothing about politics will see this & when TiKTok is back Trump will take full credit (& a huge kickback) & no one will care the ban was his idea in the first place. An idea an idiot cadre of elderly Dems went along with. 🤡 💩

misinformation is a very real issue, the problem was it was folded into a power-flattering pseudo epistemology where only grimy foreigners and YouTubers were capable of doing it when some of the biggest promoters of misinformation are the NYT and Atlantic. This bred cynicism and indifference.

Unfortunately, the MAGA campaign itself isn't fantasy, it's really happening. What they are mongering, though, is, of course, fiction. Making it reality in any way justifies that campaign that people are looking for any excuse to believe. That's sorta the difference here. Just smth to think about

Wtf do you mean now the real work begins? Its been plenty fuckin real for trans people. What, are we not Real enough for you? Or are our lives really so theoretical to you that our oppression isn't worth caring about for you?

Eli Mendoza @luxepheray.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

Gonna reiterate for ppl that thinking transphobia is just an experiment or distraction will always be a dismissal of (at best) or potential justification for (at worst) violence By yall's logic reversing gay marriage is just a path to the "real work" of restricting interracial marriage

I said it before and I'll say it again, transphobia is just homophobia in a trenchcoat that's really just misogyny in ANOTHER trenchcoat It's about patriarchy, and it's about power. Never been about anything else.

Eli Mendoza @luxepheray.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

Not to mention transphobes do not actually gaf what "direction" of trans you are, you'd still get jumped or murdered for appearing male in a women's room and especially for harrassing them It's not suddenly okay to intimidate ppl in the women's room bc I have a vagina We just wanna piss in peace

010 1

Eli Mendoza @luxepheray.bsky.social · 09/01/2025

I get what ur trying to do here but making cis women feel unsafe by intentionally replicating misogynistic violence (that we as transmen have likely grown up experiencing) as buff men is not the route here, this would be bad for all trans ppl and we know it- *that's* why we haven't done that

Adding alt text to our media is very important to make this great community accessible for everyone. 🫶 Here’s the how and why to do it:

An infographic titled “How To Write Alt Text” featuring a photo of a capybara. Parts of alt text are divided by color, including identify who, expression, description, colour, and interesting features. The finished description reads “A capybara looking relaxed in a hot spa. Yellow yuzu fruits are floating in the water, and one is balanced on the top of the capybara’s head.”

An infographic. There are six panels.

1. "Slow internet. Alt text is shown in place of unloaded images." a drawing shows a phone with poor signal, and alt text is visible where the image should have loaded.

2. "Findabillity. Alt text helps to search content." A drawing shows someone searching 'dog with banana' and a post is shown underneath without the words 'dog' or 'banana'. It is implied to be part of the alt text.

3. "Screen readers. Alt is read out to people using text-to-speech software". There is a drawing of the output a screen-reader would show when viewing an image with alt text on bluesky.

4. "Translation. Alt text can be translated". A drawing shows a post being translated. The alt text is also translated into german.

5. "Readability. Text in images can be made legible" There is a drawing of some truly awful handwriting inside a speech bubble. The alt text clarifies what the text is supposed to say.

6. "Disambiguation. Description helps clarify intent." There is a drawing of a post with a picture of a creature. This is styled after the famous optical illusion of a rabbit and a duck. The alt text clarifies that the animal is a rabbit. It definitely looks more like a duck.

I say again - there are few things in American society that will radicalize you more, or faster, than being suddenly disabled in your 20s with a condition that no doctor wants to treat or touch or interact with, and leaves you in pain every second of every day. It is a cooker beyond belief.
