Getting old means watching history repeat itself as farce again & again & again... 1st AI bubble I saw was in the late 80s & very brief: as usual, CEOs wanted to goose share prices & "discipline labor" by automating expertise. Didn't work then, won't work now. Question is: why don't ppl remember?

Solar power is generating 46.3% of the UK's electricity right now. Only 7.2% is from fossil fuels. And so many rooftops don't yet have solar panels on them - this is only going to get better. Balcony solar panels will also soon be available in the UK: no middle man between you & the sun. 🎉☀️😎

Mine is the character of Phul, pagan symbol of the moon from my name, of course. It was 1992, I was 18 and got it on my upper mid-back. My dad had died 3 years before and I got into Santería and witchcraft so I wanted something that represented the name he chose for me

Before when I wasn't paid enough at work it was because of a system of discrimination that only values mens labour. This system can be dismantled & destroyed. Now when I'm not paid enough at work it's because of the immutable characteristics of my sex. That cannot be changed. That is somehow law.

Get ready for them to rename it the "sex pay gap" transsafety.network/posts/major-...
A good example of this is recommendation 40, which suggests

renaming the gender pay gap to the "sex pay gap", despite Sullivan's own citation discussing that much of the gap is driven by social rather than biological factors, and despite research that suggests trans women are subject to a much larger pay gap than women in general.

3/ The offending section of the Code consists of two parts: blanket threats, and blanket third-spacing to mitigate them. In 13.131, it says “A service which is provided to women and trans women could also be unlawful sex discrimination against women[...]” This is actually a new position.

That provides as much defence as you can get; you've asked, you got a confirmation, and after that point it is not your business. The customer can call the cops if they wanna make a big deal about it but if you go "hmm I don't believe you" and kick out a cis lady you'll be sued into fucking paste

This means that if someone comes up to you and says hey, there's a tranny using your loos, kick them out, you may have to ask the customer discreetly "hey, sorry, I got a complaint. Can you confirm you're using the right loo?" and if they say "Yeah I am" you are DONE. That is all you need do.

For business owners, the important part of the new ECHR advice is this: 13.179: There is no type of official record or document in the UK which provides reliable evidence of sex. [...] Therefore, it is unlikely to be proportionate or practical to ask for further evidence of a person’s sex.

EHRC Code: 1. The point of the Equality Act was to prevent discrimination. So if you were discriminated against, you had (in most cases) a route to make a complaint, the law to back you up and a route to make inequality expensive enough that most companies complied (to some extent).

Did EHRC just say on wireless that it's to do with sex, nothing to do with appearance. Yet there's no way to legally confirm someone's sex, guidelines acknowledge that, so it absolutely will be on appearance & will just increase harassment, discrimination, threats & embolden those who want to do so.
