#CDFriday with 7 Worlds Collide by Neil Finn and friends. A lot of super talented artists featured here like Johnny Marr, Ed O’Brien, etc, which helps make for a really excellent live album.

Happy #CDFriday and anniversary to The Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears which came out on this date in 1989. Both my personal favorite TFF album and one of my top favorite albums ever in general because it’s that good. Excellent cover art too that captures the Beatlesque & lushy mood the album has!

RIP Peter Byrne, 1/2 of Naked Eyes alongside the late Rob Fisher. Very surreal to me to think that one of the many british new wave duos are now just gone. Their song “I Could Show You How” is imo one of the best synth tracks of the 80s as a whole and deserves much more play.

Stellar mail day. #CDfriday came early

Beggars Banquet's new CD reissues of The Go-Betweens' "Tallulah," "Liberty Belle and the Black Diamond Express" and "16 Lovers Lane," plus the first-ever CD release of "Fountains of Youth: Live at the Town & Country Club, London - 10th May 1987"

#CDFriday with Haircut One Hundred and their pretty new album, Boxing the Compass. Not only their third album overall, but also their first in 42 years since Paint the Paint. They still are a funk/soul/jazzy band, but they have evolved and matured, making for a fresh album that is a great listen.

safe to say disney never had any interest or inkling to make a full season of new muppet show eps outside of the special and this will probably be the most significant project of the brand for the next 10 yrs. but hey 8 new big budget stars wars films are on the way!

Art Davis was another incredibly talented director at WB who never got the chance to shine more as his unit got the axe due to studio budget issues. Art had been in the biz since the silent era and was a pro at fast paced gags and fluidity, as seen here in Catch as Cats Can.

Frank Tashlin is arguably the most all around talented director WB had making Looney Tunes (being an animator, comic artist, screenwriter, book writer/illustrator, animation & live action film director, etc. He naturally made cartoons that were fast & cinematic, as seen here in Porky Pig’s Feat.

#CDFriday - This import was released 7/23/2021 with 39 tracks on 3 CDs. Formed in 1980 as an offshoot of The Human League, this compilation serves as a testament to the band’s enduring legacy as the leading exponents of British electro-pop . A MUST have. The title says it all - it’s Essential!

#CDFriday with Public Service Broadcasting and their excellent concept album titled The Last Flight, which focuses on Amelia Earhart and her final flight. Tough to elaborate exactly why but if there was ever to be a concept album about Earhart, PSB naturally seems like the group to make it.

would pay to watch people’s reactions to this on first watch because you aren’t expecting it but works beautifully in line with the short’s focus on mastering a circus trick

Honey’s Money, directed by Friz Freleng and released on this date in 1962, is the only solo Yosemite Sam short the studio made & a shame because he shines here as an unwittingly dad. One of my favorite Friz shorts and a testament to his ability to make simple yet very funny cartoons

Coyote thoughts! Not Roger Rabbit or TDTEBU but it’s fun. The cel shaded 3D isn’t great & night and day compared to the 2D parts. Foghorn seems mischaracterized as an evil CEO (he’s a playful mischievous loudmouth but not corrupt). Dr Lorre inclusion is a thumbs up though.

Happy Friz Freleng day to those who celebrate. Here’s a bit from 1949’s Bad Ol’ Puddy Cat that does a really great job at showcasing the amazing rhythm Friz’s shorts have in part from his ability to time music to the actions on screen.
