Busan has a new resident named Bukangi, a shark who started chilling in the canals near the train station a couple weeks ago. The city has been trying all sorts of schemes to gently lead her back to the ocean but she foils every attempt and swims back and forth being admired by crowds of fans.

I've gotten a mailer from a coalition of healthcare organizations against the proposed California wealth tax. They're against it, they say, because it has no stipulations on how the money will be spent, & they say that itvwill somehow result in less money for health care. I'm confused.

Garbanzo beans are pretty damn good in a lot of different dishes & the price on them has not gone up so much. Buckwheat groats are amusing food & the price on them has not gone up much at all. Carrots and cabbage are really lovely and versatile.

"Enrique" is picking oranges in Visalia, CA area. "We're paid $33 per 900 lb bin. We get this rate as the fruit on the trees is very small, so it takes much longer to fill a bin. I work 6 hours, from 5 to 11 am and managed to fill 3 bins. Basically, about one every 2 hrs." #WeFeedYou
