Something I've noticed for a very long time is the more "accepting" a platform says it is, the worse its cancel culture is against the smallest things ever (often times misdirected too!) The irony in that is ridiculous, and it's giving BlueSky a terrible reputation. youtube.com/live/fbz2qqI...

My iBook G4 is alive, for the first time since 2020! It's really janky, with a broken hinge, damaged display cables & keyboard, and a sketchy DVD drive, but it's ALIVE! This & my Inspiron 910 netbook were my first computers that kickstarted my love for electronics.

I found a seemingly unused Garmin nüvi 2555LMT at Goodwill! Threw the latest maps onto it (lifetime maps, baby) and took it on a roadtrip to Nashville. Still works like a dream; even has an FM traffic receiver!

I genuinely believe that the US's inability to embrace hybrid drivetrain technologies in cars (meaning like the OG Prius, not new plug-in stuff) was a very bad sign of cultural decline which we really should have paid more attention to. We decided to look at innovation and say "no thanks"

My 2025 hobby is helping my pals de-centre tech from their lives. Acquire CDs, records, DVDs, paper books, reference books, magazines, dictionaries, etc. Go to the library! Going analog is a small way to stop relying on tech bro monsters & helps preserve knowledge they're literally deleting.
