CSP being pressed to take even just /kissing/ off their asset store and FA being told that plus sized characters are considered adult should be a giant waving red flag to folks. Sex workers have /always/ been right to say these policies never stop with 1 type of content. They always wanna ban more.

Butterbutt. An older comic.

A four-panel comic titled "yellow-rumped warbler poem". In panel 1, a yellow-rumped warbler stands on a branch in a late autumn scene, and says "Fall is here." In panel 2, the warbler watches a brown leaf fall to the ground, and says "Winter's near." In panel 3, the warbler faces the viewer as brown leaves fall, and says "Need some cheer?" In panel 4, the warbler is showing its luminous yellow rump, and cheerfully says "See my rear."

Friendly reminder that Duolingo was initially concieved to trick people into translating articles for free, which they later used as training data for MTL algorithms. Duolingo's primary purpose has NEVER been about teaching you a language, even from the start! slate.com/technology/2...

If it doesn’t charge users and, so far, doesn’t serve them any ads, how does Duolingo make money? It tricks you into working as an unpaid translation service. At the end of some lessons, Duolingo will ask you if you want to practice by translating a real-world document. Which will turn out to be, say, a BuzzFeed article. By melding together enough stabs at this task from high-level Duolingo users, the app can render a surprisingly accurate translation. Which is worth good money. So far, Duolingo has contracts with BuzzFeed and CNN to translate stories from English into languages such as Spanish, French, and Portuguese. This service is already earning Duolingo hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, but von Ahn predicts he will be adding a raft of new clients soon. “The language translations market is huge,” he says. “It’s a $30 billion per year market.”

In my experience, a lot of the people who claim to be 'good' do not practice self-reflection, accept criticism, or in general hold themselves accountable because they believe their knowledge or intent for good is enough. So they don't grow as people. If you can't see yourself doing wrong= Mea culpa

Some of the meanest and most evil people I've ever seen were so called mental health advocates or positive vibes people. They often ended being very ableist. They felt since they were such "nice people". They were allowed to lie and abuse others who are "bad" in their eyes.

I feel like some people feel morally superior to others so they feel like they have the right to abuse them. And that's fucked up to me. We're all human beings. And we should do our best to cause as little harm as possible and protect the vulnerable.

Wax and Hearth. Weird things gotta stick together. #art

A reference for artists describing the details of a character named Hearth who looks like a white fluffy dog with the face cut off revealing a little room like a doll house with two little figures inside having tea

A reference for artists describing the details of a character named Wax Poetic As All Else In Life Wanes (yes that entire sentence) who looks like a very abstract cat or deer with a face like a mask

A comic depicting Wax and Hearth walking together. Wax turns to Hearth and says in panel one "Oh! I just realized something about you" Hearth replies "I'm afraid to ask" second panel Wax leans in close to Hearth's face, which is a doll house like room with two people sitting in it. He says "you're technically a spider!" the two people in the dollhouse room respond "w-what" and he continues "you have eight legs!" They respond "no! that's not how that works! I hope" and Wax laughs

A comic. First panel: Wax approaches two women, a human and a furry anthro fox, sitting in an outdoor cafe. The human woman exclaims "oh my gosh it's coming right up to us!! Hi sweetie! Can I pet you?" the other woman says "aww!" second and third panel shows her petting Wax as he purrs, and then in the fourth panel he suddenly bites her and she says "ow! Hey!" the fourth panel shows Wax walking happily with Hearth who looks up at him and asks "Why do you always bite them??" and Wax responds with a smile "Where my heart leads I must follow!"
