My tooth isn't hurting right now but hurt a LOT when I first woke up today. I'm worried something about laying down or sleeping or something I'm doing while sleeping triggers the pain and it's making me reluctant to go to bed...

I successfully secured a dentist appointment an entire week earlier. Now I have to decide if I keep calling them anyway to see if I can get something even earlier - if I do that it will be in a couple days, obviously.

A while ago my mom asked me to try making something closer to actual Indian dal instead of my usual lentil soup recipe so I did that today - it's very different! I'd describe the flavor profile as... cozy.

Sometimes for my own entertainment I do seasonal analysis on my own characters (seasonal analysis is a method for categorizing people according to palettes that would look good on them, the palettes are named after seasons) anyway the redesign changed Hat from a light summer to a soft autumn

Sometimes I consider including more highlighting of the natural environment in a story, and when I do I am confronted with the eternal question: depict Utah but try to ignore the elephant in the room (mormonism), OR depict somewhere else, but have to research the biome to hell and back

This is Hat, a character I decided to recently redesign. She's approximately one person with two bodies (the fellow she's talking to in the second image is Parker, who is the same kind of magical creature as her)

I had some crusty bread that was gonna go to waste but with my tooth is extremely inedible, so I tried to make bread pudding. Problem: prediabetes. So I tried making it with less sugar. I seem to have invented the exact midpoint between bread pudding and an omelette. Disconcerting.

Historian (the cat) has finally reached the stage where her self care is faltering - she licks herself, but not enough to not smell faintly like litter box. Before I subject her to the horror of regular baths, I am subjecting her to the indignity of getting rubbed down with a wet wipe (cat formula)

Something about art that means a lot to me, is that when I started studying light and color theory, whenever I was waiting somewhere - bus, doctor's office, whatever - I would look at how light was falling on things and then figure out what the light source was. Usually this is extremely obvious

I am now very glad the meal I cooked last night was soup because I'm pretty okay as long as I don't bite anything with that tooth. Also glad that the meals I had planned for this week (and groceries I bought for them) were basically also all soup

My dentist appointment isn't until late october and that was the soonest possible one 🫤 the tooth pain is at least better today? Not sure how to keep it this way though, all I did was wake up.

Been dreaming of split pea soup for days and of course when I finally manage to cook it is when I suddenly get a toothache that is also sensitive to hot/cold and also it's a front tooth so there's no avoiding it even when eating a thick soup

I find it funny that Historian (the cat) yelled at me like she does when she wants me to go to bed, even though it was the middle of my day, because I didn't sleep well last night which meant she didn't get to perch on me like a gargoyle as much as she wanted, and wanted to do that more

Every day people refer to random OCs of mine as my "sona" or "fursona" and every day I have to remind myself this is just totally acceptable and normal language change over time. Roosevelt as a sona is at least kind of flattering. Alas, I am only cool enough to come up with her, not be her.

I reported a problem with my dishwasher flooding the kitchen, but at some point the work order was silently dismissed. So I was like, whatever, I guess they want me to flood the kitchen repeatedly. But now the dishwasher won't start at all and I'm sitting here waiting to be less pissy to report it

I was recc'd a video about caring for gray hair and watched it because I'm starting to go gray - it was useful to know my hair would naturally get more brittle, so glad I watched it.
