I keep making the mistake of arguing with people on youtube comments... (this time regarding AI slop recomps) I'm glad that the comments on the vid I saw were so negative but the shooters are so damn myopic lmao. It's either "well it's here to stay so get used to it" or "more slop is a good thing"

Seeing "friction" become more popular is a a bit annoying 'cause they are clearly talking about one specific thing and 9/10 times it would've been better to say that thing because that's the actual value that brings merit to the game. Friction is what the player experiences as a result of that thing

finally got round to playing the game normally... managed to no miss (2 bombs 1 was a mispress lmao) the first 2 stages of mushi original so yeah the next step is to really get down practicing stage 3. I think the plan is to practice until no missing each stage and then go for clears afterwards

When you think about it, when a difficult puzzle is stuck in your head your brain is devoting some of it's energy to solving it while you're sleeping, while you're doing other stuff... You're basically playing the game even when you're not playing it. That's the true power of puzzles lol

Seems to be a recurring theme, if I spend too much time playing good games I start craving some Grade A Crap. For every 3-4 good games I play there's gotta be a mid-bad one alongside it. Currently the ration is 3:1, I've got DK64 balancing out snakebird, big walk and mushihimesama

One funny thing I've realized over time is that taking a break from a game you're trying to learn actually does help. I've found it's the case for fighting games and tonight was the first time I've grinded DoDonPachi in a few days and it's the best I've done. This image is just unironically true.

If you want to learn a language, literally anything is better than Duolingo. Honestly it being better than nothing is debatable at this point. Textbooks, audio courses, online guides. Literally anything with a pedagogically sound structure. SRS for vocab (duo isn't SRS), and LISTEN AND READ. A LOT
