Done with the main+extended story in Xenoblade X after 107 hours, time to unmute a bunch of keywords. Easily the worst game in the franchise, which means it's still a very strong 8/10 and potential GotY contender.

Credits rolling on Avowed. Overall I enjoyed it! Some will find that its CRPG roots and superficial similarities to TES hurt it—it deliberately opts out of any pseudo immersive sim aspects in favor of a more streamlined questing experience. It is a *good* experience, with the right expectations.

I don't think it's discussed nearly as much as it should be that when Mega64's transfarring promo was dubbed into Japanese, Konami got Mr. Japanese Solid Snake himself, Akio Otsuka, to dub Rocco and it'll never not be the funniest thing to hear a voice I now associate with car ads coming out of him.

“I didn’t go, not after what he said” is an example of RESUMPTIVE NEGATION—the use of one negative statement immediately after another to emphasise the negation of the whole. The second clause here could just be “after what he said”, but the extra ‘not’ works to reinforce the first.

Credits finally rolling on Metaphor ReFantazio. A fantastic game, as expected, and I remain fascinated by its development cycle. A very direct sequel to Persona 5 left to cook for the better part of a decade, it feels simultaneously sprawling and constrained, polished and rushed. Craft, not product.

Wrapped up my Zero Time Dilemma re-play, and it cemented my belief that the game being the weakest in the trilogy is a mercy. The death of the franchise would have been incredibly painful if the last entry had been on par with Virtue's Last Reward, but it being plagued by misfires softens the blow.
