Charities and fundraisers! @justgiving.bsky.social pulled all support for livestream fundraising THIS WEEK. Please be aware of this absolutely daft blunder if you use them for fundraising campaigns. I would heartily suggest - as a consultant for charities - that you use @tiltify.com going forwards.

"Direct your dream game" says Unity Y'all game direction is many things but I can guarantee you that "genre + setting" is not game direction for anyone who has been a game director even just for 5 minutes Which should tell you enough about who made this, and whether you should trust them with this

Genuinely one of the weirdest and silliest moves they could have made. Wouldn't be surprised if the site eventually shuts down due to being unable (or unwilling) to innovate and compete with Enthuse, Tiltify, GoFundMe etc.

090

Hannah Rutherford (she/her) @lomadiah.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Why? 1. Tiltify was made for fundraising with live content 2. Unlike Twitch Charity and most on-site platform options, they tell the charity about your fundraiser and sent them the funds afterwards ASAP 3. Allows other features like match funding

I actually literally do not think they realize what they've done here. Sonic isn't just a game with fans. It's basically embedded in the fabric of the internet. Since I clicked the link ten minutes ago, two THOUSAND more people joined. And it only has five channels to post in and four moderators.

Hannah Rutherford (she/her) @lomadiah.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

A neighbour has kindly saved the day (and also had printer issues last week so was like OMG TELL ME ABOUT IT), I might try and tinker with both at the weekend to see if I can fix them. Maybe.

Hannah Rutherford (she/her) @lomadiah.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Why do printers wait until they’re needed urgently to break? We’ve got two in the house and one thinks it has no paper (it’s got loads), while the other has somehow dried out - but just the black ink, which is now replaced. Has had various cleaning tests and such, still printing as a light grey 🤷‍♀️

CONTROL Resonant has no traditional difficulty levels. Instead, there's the Assist Mode. Use it to make the game easier (or harder) and only adjust certain mechanics, or take advantage some of the presets provided. You can turn the Assist Mode on/off whenever you like! #CONTROLResonant

CONTROL Resonant Assist Mode menu, showing the Assist Mode enabled. Assist Mode presets are Custom, Field Agent, Strategist, or Ranger. The sliders on display are Power Recovery Speed, Incoming Damage, Outgoing Damage, Outgoing Falter, Perfect Dodge Window, Enemy Projectile Speed. The tickboxes are Enhanced Melee Magnetising, Immortality, One-Hit Kills, One-Hit Falters. There's an option for Enemy Aggression, which can be set to Low, Medium, or High.

True, it’s more the lack of citing other influences (like House of Leaves), which is frustrating, I think. We probably won’t know the full story of what was cooked up and when until Sam Lake writes his autobiography - stuff like AWEs popping up in Quantum Break as graffiti.

I know that gaming journalists have a big ask to play through big games for launch and form an opinion - but that’s just embarrassing. Then again they also say Alan 2 is a “deeply unsatisfying quasi-survival horror”, so maybe they just shouldn’t be doing the Remedy reviews.

170

Hannah Rutherford (she/her) @lomadiah.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

There’s a Control review going around which says that Remedy games can be “pretentious and shallow”, implies the FBC is an inferior SCP Containment (Alan came first), and that the opening of the game is just the start of Inception. Who the fuck’s coming out of their games thinking that 😂😂😂

It's really refreshing seeing shitey normal working class life depicted like this in a game, and a Silent Hill game no less. Pebble-dashed council flats, three-bar fires, Post Office counters, concrete shopping precincts. This must be how posh people felt playing Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

A Post Office (well, 'Post Service') counter.
