I loved my time in the US, especially LA. Like all colonial empires, the country was built off the backs of immigrants and the destruction of indigenous culture and people. The scenes in #losangeles today are not surprising, however they are just as horrendous and terrifying. I'm heartbroken 💔

The fact that actual sex traffickers are allowed to maintain social media accounts with no issue while SWers are continually suspended, shadowbanned and deplatformed shows none of this is about “protecting women”. It has only ever been about preventing us from having financial independence.

My evening thought is that I suspect a great many Americans, in the period after 1989, grew very used to a world in which it didn't matter *that* much who they elected (to them). They had the rule of law, the most prosperous economy in human history, the long peace. But it always mattered.
