Seeing all the talk about Singal's influence + BlueSky's nonaction is a very good reminder about how BS's admins did their damndest to try & sweep antiblackness under the rug in the early days AND went out of their way to make themselves unavailable The tactic against trans ppl is 100% the same.

A veiled ghost.

$Black and White, surreal illustration of a veiled figure. Its dress folds and wrinkles obsessively, and the veil on its face hides cadaverous features. It has a crown of roses, and tendrils of white get away from it as if they were made of smoke. Behind the figure's head, a fractured halo, the only thing in color, golden, and half-hidden.$

Hello new followers! If you've not already figured it out, I'm an artist working primarily in woodcut printmaking, though I have a background in non-ferrous metals, and love learning all sorts of art forms. Esotericism, folklore, Renaissance era woodcut, and weird fiction are primary interests. #art

A woodcut print that has been tinted with watercolors. The scene is a mermaid in a long dress seated on a cliff overlooking the ocean. She holds an upside down human skull emitting smoke, and points with the other hand to a comet containing a key. A book lays on the ground near her, and a ship is sinking beneath stylized waves in front of a city painted with rusty greens. A strange eye emits rays of metal from the cloud above her.

A black ink woodcut print on cream colored paper. The scene is roughly Renaissance style and depicts a monstrous giant dancing in a stone circle. The giant has long pointed ears, a shaggy head of hair and beard, a scaled chest, furry legs, strange wide feet, and a cluster of tentacles around two eyes on his hips. He holds a large key and gestures to a gateway in the clouds. Silhouettes of birds fly in the sky around him, and two tiny human silhouettes raise their arms near the edges of the image.

A black ink on cream paper woodcut print. The head of a great horned owl fills much of the space. Half of its head is formed like a human skull.

A black ink woodcut on cream colored paper with watercolr and gold leaf. Text reads R'lyeh exsurgebit ubi astra parata sunt. A being known as Cthulhu sits crosslegged on a stone rising out of the ocean. It gestures with one claw upwards towards a cluster of stars, and the other downward to a city rising from the sea. It has a squid-shaped head, tentacles emerging above the shoulders, and bat-like wings.

Lots of people really want to just have an army of little friends and you just hang out with them in some kind of swampy throne room. You sing songs with them and then send them to do tasks "Bring me all of the snails please!!"

A goblin wearing black robes and a black pointy hat. They are jumping up and maybe roaring. They have four pointy teeth and green skin and red cheeks.

From the archives: the only way I can trick myself into doing architecture practice is to make my architecture into creatures. :P #art #fantasyart

An ink drawing of an old-world house with a shingled roof and smoking chimney. The house is support on four leg-like contractions; while each is slightly different, they're all made of various mechanical parts. On the side of the house facing the viewer a second-story window is tinted blue and shows the silhouette of a figure.
