As wearying as the "why are you such a cunt?" school of British journalism can be, American media could learn from it. Top stuff here

Derek Vs Derek is a great documentary about rewilding and its tensions with intensive farming, played out between two neighbouring farmers. Really enjoyable and informative

for those of us who think climate change is an existential issue and want to see strong environmental politics, the Greens current shit show is demoralising. Anti-Semitic slop from the Corbynite entryists imo. Kicking those cranks out of Labour one of the most righteous moves Starmer made

Trump in the Oval, alone, seeing this quote. He rubs his forehead. He goes to the window, stares out over the great city. Has he, in fact, betrayed the legacy of his late friend? The thought is too horrible to contemplate. "Heavy is the head," he thinks, quoting Henry IV Part II, his favorite play.

Favorites aside, his profound ruminations on Richard III are what now keep him up at night and vexed. Why would anyone think that Gloucester was the bad guy? Why would no one give him a horse? Also he recites Shelley by heart and wonders why Ozymandias didn't build a really, really big arch.

Someone responsible please come and take him to some quiet place where he tell his stories and slowly walk the grounds or go to the day room to watch his shows on the television. Give him some overcooked dinner to gum before bed. Do not let him be the leader of a nation any longer.

Reading Glasser's James Baker biography, surprised to learn that in the year Reagan won all but one state, Democrats won both the House and Senate. Republicans and indeed Conservatives don't half have a way of self-mythologising/ bamboozling re their popularity

🚨 NEW BEST FOR BRITAIN RESEARCH 🚨 If Labour commit to rejoining the EU in the next manifesto they will be the party most likely to form a government. If Burnham wants to stop Farage, grow our economy and bring Britain to the top table, he must commit to EU membership.

What he said👇 America reelected a plainly demented convicted felon because eggs were a bit spendy Next Democratic admin must do big progressive stuff to noticeably improve a big majority of voters lives. Also massive structural reform - new states, SCOTUS and more or the first marginally competent

Very sorry to hear Manchester's Another Hand closed with immediate effect. Spectacular restaurant and beloved to discerning foodies. Often tough to get a table there because it was always rammed. If such a popular venue with a wonderful offer can't stay afloat, UK hospitality is really in the shit

Plenty to like in Resident Evil. Creggar survives the jump to big budget franchise filmmaking without giving up much individuality. And a snappy ninety minutes! Marvel should give him a free hand with one of the horror properties they've struggled to develop

www.joblo.com/lonesome-dov... I'll watch it I suppose but don't see how it could outshine the original. Or the book. Also the prequel and sequel books were great if flawed. If they think they can do this right, start with a season for Dead Man's Walk and end with Streets of Laredo.

Going through my granddad's diaries. At 9am on NYD 1992, he was queueing outside Texas Homecare to buy a new toilet seat. He then drove home, went back to bed for 3 hours, watched The Guns of Navarone, had dinner, watched Taggart then got back in bed to write his diary. I envy most of this.

www.ecoportal.net/en/crews-pac... I love stories like this. Offshore turbines need rocks at the base to prevent currents undermining foundations. Rocks are seeded with flat oysters on land which then develop a reef at the turbine sites. That *seems* to coincide with increases in cod and bass numbers
ecoportal.net
Around 5,000 stones went into the sea off Belgium with oyster larvae already settled on them, and every one of them was rock that an offshore wind farm was going to dump there anyway
Engineers are seeding oyster larvae into the scour-protection rocks around offshore wind turbine bases in the North Sea, reviving a species almost entirel
