Doesn’t surprise me. On some wards nurses are not allowed to use their judgment as to when obs are required, but must do them ever 4 hours, even if the patient is medically fit, for example pre elective surgery. Hope that you are ok, nothing too serious 🤞

I guess the theory is that patients go to sleep early in hospitals as they get woken at 6am. Which might be true if IVs weren’t given at eleven at night.

I don’t think that you ever get used to them. 😔 If you have any key concerns or questions, write them down. At the beginning of the appointment you can say “I’m sure that you will cover these points, but so I don’t forget…” and hand them the questions.

Many of the CNS roles at my Trust are 1 to 2 year secondments. I’m finally settling in to my role and I will need to leave soon, as these secondments can’t be extended due to HR policies. It is not good for patient safety, having so many CNSs with <2 years experience. @alisonleary1.bsky.social

My motivation at work is simply to be appreciated (by patients and colleagues), but my new managers are quite bad at showing this. I’ve just realised that I’ve picked up a habit of sending them the occasional email where I praise myself (on their behalf 😂).

Agree, it is a handy little oven which heats up instantly, but that seems to be about it. I don’t eat meat, so i use my oven mainly for veggies or baking.

Final verdict - it’s basically just a small oven, which heats almost instantly - cooks things quicker on the outside, but not on the inside - don’t be fooled the the words ‘air fryer’, it does not fry without oil - chips taste no better than oven chips It’s a handy gadget for speed but not quality
