English and ASL are different languages, so whereas closed captions translate it into English, an ASL interpreter allows Deaf and HoH people to access the media in ASL, which may be their first or more natural-feeling language. (I am hearing, but this is my understanding. I welcome feedback.)

The literary giant Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o (and one of my favorite authors) has passed. 😔 Wizard of the Crow is a masterpiece. He has many greats. I'm glad I got to meet him a few times (I always encouraged him to write a science fiction novel...he said he'd consider it).

Follow-up: we had an excellent time at Posse Grounds Park in Sedona, an e-bird hot spot. There was a wheelchair-accessible path that led north from the trailhead parking lot through the park to a little neighborhood street. We met a local who recommended the view from a cul-de-sac off Zane Grey Dr.

I started off using the app without the armband and without the membership, but there are plenty of apps that can tell you your HRV, which is basically all you can do without the armband. The membership really makes a difference in functionality. Hope that helps! Lemme know if you have more q's :)

I use both. The benefit of the app and armband combo, in my opinion, is the ability to get real-time heart rate info from the armband, and alerts when you have been in your exertion zone for a certain amount of time.
