Steamship regatta in lake Saimaa, Finland. Finns have an extra ordinary collection of historic steamships preserved and in active use, national steam ship association SHPS lists abt 90 member ships. Is there such collection of historic (oldest from 1870) steamships anywhere in the world?

It's World Marine Aids to Navigation Day on the 1st July, so here's a quick thread on some aids to navigation. Now the first and most obvious aid to navigation is dry land. Dry land - pay attention at the back - is strongly suggestive that you can't go sailing here.

Great show. Season One might be a bit clumsy, but 2-4 are just amazing. Also the later arc is depressingly relevant to our current situation in the US. If you’ve never watched this show I’d strongly recommend it.
