On my way to EWEP @ Leeds 🥳! I’m genuinely impressed (again) by the European railway system. From the north of the Netherlands to London in 6 hours, without any hiccups (apart from me almost missing the train to London, because I did not take the 30 minute boarding deadline seriously)!

I could not agree more. Cutting English Psychology bachelor programs in many Dutch universities would be a huge, unnecessary, loss. We need to stand up for science. And currently for Psychological science in particular. Understanding why people do the things they do could not be more urgent.

My sources work, or until recently worked, across six different agencies, including the State, Commerce, and Defense Departments and USAID; most requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak or they feared being targeted. “People are terrified,” one worker told me, “not for losing their jobs but for losing democracy.”

The workers described a fundamental transformation in the character of the government: Many workers say they live in a constant state of fear, unable to trust their colleagues, unable to speak freely, reflexively engaging in self-censorship even on matters they view as crucial to national security.

I'm looking for a way to automatically blur multiple faces in a video. People in the video cross paths. Do have ideas and/or experiences? Ideally, the program would automatically blur all faces and then we would be able to select which faces we want to "de-blur". But also open to other options.

My research assistants tried a bunch of different programs for this and we ultimately decided to use movavi with pretty good success - there’s a free option that leaves a watermark across the video or the paid version is fairly inexpensive too! Happy to answer questions (if I can 😅)
