Apparently the Rs are attacking our centrist Dem Senate candidate by saying he's too cozy with Amazon. The tech hate is real and Dems should capitalize on it or Rs will and get credit for something they have no intention of doing #uspoli

I love the phrase "deep time" but I don't want it to mean what it means. People use it to mean large time scales, geologic or cosmic. I want it to mean something magical, like time that is richer and more layered. Back to when we viewed time as more cyclical than linear

If that's the Doom mask face I hate it. Look, no one asked me, but they should have because Dr. Doom is my favorite, and I would have said get Guillermo del Toro to direct the Mike Mignola Dr. Doom and Dr. Strange team up or GTFO.

Have my roof rack finally and was going to take my new boat out this afternoon but it's going to be very windy. I think I'll get to take it out Sunday morning. It has size 13 shoes in it which is not ideal, but I have new ones on order and I can deal for a few rows

This will never stop blowing my mind. A 12-year sequence of real telescope images of a star 133 lightyears away. And around it, four planets slowly orbiting. Four real exoplanets, each more massive than Jupiter, imaged as they move around their host star.

This is gravitational lensing. Where the a bunch of galaxies are so, so massive they distort the fabric of spacetime itself, and bend the light from background galaxies billions of lightyears more distant.
From the source: "A massive galaxy cluster, made of many golden elliptical galaxies with the largest, brightest one in the centre. Heavily distorted orange galaxies appear all around the cluster, the largest concentrated in a large arc around the cluster's centre; these are images of very distant galaxies, created by gravitational lensing. A few galaxies are large and bluish-white in colour; bright, nearby stars are the same colour."

Panko crusted. Frying. Fried. Sliced, atop a cabbage salad, drizzled with guachuchong spiced honey. Damn good.
Four pieces of chicken, covered in panko bread crumbs. Two pieces of chicken frying in a pan. Five pieces of golden brown fried chicken on a cooling rack. Sliced boneless fried chicken thigh on a bed of cabbage salad.

Doing 60 min of erging 2 days in a row is far more taxing than 60 min moving time on the water. Whew. This morning I did a "target practice" workout to try to pass the time more quickly. Something like: 5 min at 18 strokes per minute, record how many hit 18, repeat for various rates.

My Rage Against the Machine/Les Mis mashup is complete. This is my interpretation of the quilt guild’s summer challenge “quilt with your interpretation and/or feelings towards our current ‘democracy’” all hand stitched.
Quilt hanging on a card catalog. Neutral background with navy cursive appliqué “Do you hear thr people sing?” The background is embroidered in red starting light and getting bolder the lyrics to “killing in the name” the quilting effect is a focused sunburst from the center.

Like I don't think this is grasped nearly enough. We're not fighting major liberal and centrist politicians because of some obscure doctrinal issue. We're fighting them because *they're actively collaborating with fascism* and you don't defeat fascism without crushing collaborators.

So when a Dem says they agree with any of this, they are taking a position that is against what trans people ALREADY HAD just 5 years ago. That's why trans people won't accept it. It's not about progress, it's about preventing a managed decline in civil rights agreed to by Democrats.

Long hard but good row capped by annoying drama when I got to the dock. The club just started pushing its private lessons, which it wasn't doing much before this season, and now is trying to keep my coach from using a public dock where he rents a mooring because he's "poaching".
