Friends, I learned something today! NH Mutual Aid Relief Fund needs donations, but they REALLY most specifically need a recurring monthly donation even $5! having a monthly budget can make them more effective in maximizing how far the dollar can stretch can you help? Friends in NH, can you help?

In extreme weather conditions, NHMARF volunteers provide street outreach to ensure our unsheltered neighbors have water and other vital supplies to stay as safe and comfortable as possible. This typically entails driving or walking around, or setting up in public spaces, and offering aid free of charge to those in need.

NHMARF is entirely volunteer-run and donor-based, which means that any donation or contribution you make goes directly to those that need it most. Thank you for helping us continue this work.

WE TAKE CARE OF US!

Dangerous, record-breaking heat will intensify across most of the central and eastern U.S this week. Dozens of record highs are expected later this week across much of the Northeast. Heat indices will likely exceed 100 degrees. Check your forecast at weather.gov.
A NOAA map titled "Forecast Record High Temperature Locations" showcasing the Eastern United States.

A legend in the top left defines the color-coded dots indicating where record highs are expected:

Thursday: Large red circle

Friday: Medium orange circle

Saturday: Small yellow circle

The map is heavily filled with these dots, often nested inside one another, showing a multi-day heat event. Red dots (Thursday) are scattered widely from the Midwest through the Mid-Atlantic and up into New England. Orange dots (Friday) are concentrated along the Northeast corridor, Mid-Atlantic, and into the Carolinas. Yellow dots (Saturday) are primarily located in the southern portion of the map, including Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The blue NOAA logo is located in the bottom right corner.

Free community meal from 1-2 pm every Sunday Veteran's Park, Manchester NH
communityfoodsupply.orgSince January, a small crew of community members - determined to take direct action to help fight food insecurity - began serving free, hot meals in tandem with the Manchester free store, which is held every Sunday at 1pm.

They've been there every week - even in rain and snowstorms - to provide nutritious and filling meals to our community, and helping to fill a gap in meal service within the city.

The feedback from free store attendees has been overwhelmingly positive.Up until now, this project has been entirely self-funded; however, given its success and the organizers' determination to continue serving meals during the free store indefinitely, and to ultimately grow this project into more frequent meal service, they have registered as a charitable org in the state of NH and are pending non-profit status!

Please check out Community Food Supply on Facebook and Instagram (@communityfoodsupply) and give them a follow! We at NH MARF are so excited to see this project grow, and we are thankful for the folks behind Community Food Supply who have made it happen for the past three months; now, we are hoping that more community members who are aligned with this type of work will be able to join them in providing support however possible.

Though we know that volunteering and donating money are not accessible to everyone, it helps immensely to simply engage with and share posts.

Please help us help them in sustaining this project by tapping the link in our bio. Thank you all!

Hi neighbors, due to the dangerously-cold windchills forecasted for this coming weekend, the Manchester free store will be held inside of the YWCA at 72 Concord St instead of at Veteran's Park on Sunday, February 8th. We will also be starting one hour early and running the store from noon until 2pm.
Manchester, it's cold.
Windchills will be below zero this weekend. To keep people from having to wait in the cold, we are holding the Manchester Free Store indoors again at 72 Concord St on Sunday, 2/8, from noon - 2pm.map of where the temporary location is.
