I went to the doctor, and they don't like some of the results, so now I'm sitting here waiting for a CAT scan. Appt with a hematologist, coming up. Can life quit stressing me out?

We must evolve to be a society where women can live, study, work, socialize, and simply exist without having to calculate the risk of being harassed, assaulted, or harmed. Violence against women is real, pervasive, and deserves all of our serious attention.

Rough days, emotionally. My husband died in 2025. Our 38th anniversary would have been Oct 8th. And, I'm dating someone new, probably sooner than I should, but there he was, and life is short. He told me he loves me for the first time yesterday. I love him too. But it hurts too. My brain & heart..

For a miniature #ForestFriday , these Chinese Juniper (Juniperus chinensis 'Femina') have been in training since 1953 (older than me!). At the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum, [US] National Arboretum, Washington, DC. 19 Feb 2023

This is a bonsai, looking like a miniature forest of tall, old juniper trees. I count seven trunks growing with some exposed roots in this oval, shallow ceramic planter, which sits on a weathered wooden platform.

The north door at St Edward’s Church, Stow-on-the-Wold, Cotswolds, has an ancient and knobbly yew tree on each side of the door. It is thought it may have inspired Tolkien for “Doors of Durin.” #AdoorableThursday #AlphabetChallenge #WeekKforKn #Trees #Churches #Literature #Photography #Cotswolds

Tolkien was a professor at Oxford University which is not far away and he was known to have visited the Cotswold and Stow in particular.
The Doors of Durin are in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
This church porch was built about 300 years ago with the yew saplings planted at the same time. They are now part of the architraves of the door.
