On the OH turnpike rest stops, you order and pay for your fast food from a screen. Then, in the little mart where they sell snacks, coffee, and such, there was no one behind the register. Luckily we spotted the self-checkout for the coffee my husband poured himself. Weird.

For anyone who read & loved Theo of Golden, plz read The Road to Tender Hearts. Both #books explore an old man confronting his past, but Tender Hearts is a far superior novel. Sharp & witty, You may be shocked or scandalized but what an adventure! And PJ is a more believable & empathetic character.
