"Serenity is such an excellent narrator. Her perspective feels genuinely unique to anything I've read before, and experiencing the story through her eyes was probably my favourite thing about the book."

Because a large section of Highway 12 along the Outer Banks was torn up by this nor’easter, we’re taking a different route back home from Ocracoke Island, and that means we have to stay here a few extra days for a ferry. No better place to be!

Yes, A.l. might kill us all but I grew up in the 80s…
lan Boothby writes:
Yes, A.l. might kill us all but I grew up in the 80s where if nukes set off by a senile President didn't kill us any day then sex would. Also we had a serial killer in neighbourhood. And a volcano exploded covering everything in ash. I feel like I've been vaccinated for the 2020s fear mongering by living through that.

For anyone who read & loved Theo of Golden, plz read The Road to Tender Hearts. Both #books explore an old man confronting his past, but Tender Hearts is a far superior novel. Sharp & witty, You may be shocked or scandalized but what an adventure! And PJ is a more believable & empathetic character.
Linda K. Sienkiewicz recommends the book The Road to Tender Hearts

A new twist: A reader wrote that she enjoyed Love and Other Incurable Ailments, but added “the main character is definitely nuts…” Well, that’s one way to put it. Of course, _I_ have been called worse. The neurodivergent fan club might disapprove.

Is everyone weeping.

Everyone is incidental.
Everyone weeps.

The tears of today
Will put out tomorrow.

The rain is ashes.

Lately Cowboy has resisted taking a walk. He doesn’t like big noises, like a dumpster lid slamming or the speaker at the parking garage telling drivers to “insert a credit card…” Last night there were fireworks. Today I got him out with bits of cheese. We made it to the park but he hurried home.

A so-so review is part of being an author. Once your #book is out in the world, it’s no longer yours. But aking a funny video sure helps. And if YOU want to read my book for free on #NetGalley before its release date, please look for it, & maybe write a nice review to counter this one? 😉

Excerpt from my forthcoming novel, LOVE AND OTHER INCURABLE AILMENTS, a “witty and raw” story about a woman who reads discarded love letters and falls in love with the stranger who wrote them. See links in my profile for more. Coming 10-27 from @regalhouse.bsky.social!
Quote from the novel LOVE AND OTHER INCURABLE AILMENTS by Linda K. Sienkiewicz that reads “If I could have anything, go anywhere,
be anyone, what then? The Ocracoke lighthouse lamp glowed at me, inexplicably pulling me toward this broken stranger. I could spend a summer on the island. I could be the yin to Birdy’s yang. My simple but natural looks would stun him when he spotted me in a blowsy cotton dress, my long fair hair falling across my face as I picked
sun-whitened shells along the shore and dropped them into a tin pail. He’d say I alone could mend his shattered heart.”
Image shows a tin pail, a photo of a woman on the beach, seashells, a map, and a postcard of the Ocracoke lighthouse
