There’s a sincerity and a joy to Mamdani that’s just infectious. Very very few US politicians have had this type of “naturalness” imo,without coming across as insincere.JFK had it. Paul Wellstone had it.Obama had it.And so does this guy. Mr.Mamdani is in very very esteemed company indeed. Class act.

I don’t always agree with Tom’s musical choices because he’s generally wrong,but this is a cracker. Track 3 (September 15th dedicated to Bill Evans) is just magnificent. You can tell Metheny was still in his Stanley Myers Cavatina phase. The opening sequence sounds remarkably like Myers’ Portrait.
