Awww. If I ever win the lottery we’ll go on a potato tour! ❤️

Honestly I don’t see the problem with have a nice/great day? It’s at least a kind intention? “Acceptable” seems damning … But ofc context matters like if you know someone has a dying relative or whatever DON’T SAY “have a great day.” I usually breeze out in person with a “have a good one!” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah these Fuji we just bought from the store are generally really good. Honey crisp also good & I really liked the cosmic crisp. Some Granny Smith even too tbh. Haven’t had any other apples since I reintroduced apples into my diet 😹 (still fucking hate bananas though…)

No 😹😭 it’s cuz I immediately horfed after eating one in elementary school & hated em since. (Would still OCCASIONALLY eat applesauce/pie/baked/poached. Or raw covered in caramel but that was like 5x ever) Unfortunately I just ate a Fuji apple & thought about it & felt slightly ill again. Sigh.

O.o wait. There … are people who think “I hope you have an acceptable day” is a kind social thing to say?

Um this is amazing

Website comment reading: Oh NO, for years I have been sending holiday cards to my neighbors with a general season’s greeting and then ending it with “And I hope you have the 202X you deserve!” I thought it was, like, general good wishes without repeating all of the general holiday stuff.

I started sending the cards because my neighbors were kind of standoffish and to be honest things have not improved!! I was hoping several years of friendly cards would soften them but I didn’t know about the F you implication.

How do I recover from this????"

After basically hating apples for the past 80% of my life I suddenly started craving them this summer. 😹 my mom was like “… are you a pod person?” Encountered some mealy gala apples though & still hate that.

This rare long-neck celadon wine bottle is inlaid with white wild chrysanthemums, symbols of both the poem "Drinking Wine" and blessings of longevity. One root has three stems with tiny white blossoms. The damaged lip was repaired with gold lacquer.

I was having breakfast at the co-op. A woman came up and flashed a copy of a Beverly Jenkins classic. “Thank you for telling me to read this!” It took me a long minute after to remember my RomCon post about Ms. Bev. I could heal the world if people just did what I told them to do. smh 😂😉

In June, Belgium’s diamond industry gifted Trump an 18-karat gold ring encrusted with 321 diamonds and 75 gemstones. A month later, European diamonds got an exemption from Trump’s tariffs. We don’t know where the ring is today. Where did it go? Did Trump keep it for himself?

It's Knife Ghost season.

A pumpkin patch. In the distance, a faint image of a blue ghost surrounded by a halo of carving knives. The text reads: you're carving. The knife ghost waits. Because you're using a knife. Instead of a pumpkin carving kit. Always use a pumpkin carving kit, never a knife.

Philly could lose nearly 8,000 affordable rentals over the next decade. Here's why

Amid a housing shortage, researchers say it’s unclear how many of these units will be preserved as affordable rentals. About 43,000 could vanish statewide.

😅 Anyway, regardless of anything/conflicting(?) interpretations, these two lines are lovely. 山有木兮木有枝，心悅君兮君不知。 (Shān yǒu mù xī mù yǒu zhī, xīn yuè jūn xī jūn bù zhī; the mountain has trees, and the trees have branches; My heart delights in you, yet you do not know.)

Her DIL (FL's aunt) is very much a woman of her time and absolutely refuses, thinking it would be shameful to do so. ... So grandmother is like "well if you won't get a man at least you should be satisfied" and gives her a jade dildo. 😹☠️💯 Anyway her DIL is of course horrified and offended. 🤷🏻‍♀️

FL's maternal grandmother was AMAZING. Not only did she escape the emperor as a young woman, she also survived the (then) empress constantly trying to kill her. A widow remarrying was "unchaste" 🙄😒 - but not w/ gma. She tells her widowed daughter in law "go get remarried if you like! Live life!"
