i think brave lets you add extensions to block ads from what i can see, i've heard of this thing called nextDNS which is an app that installs a settings profile that should block most things regardless of the browser

My 2025 hobby is helping my pals de-centre tech from their lives. Acquire CDs, records, DVDs, paper books, reference books, magazines, dictionaries, etc. Go to the library! Going analog is a small way to stop relying on tech bro monsters & helps preserve knowledge they're literally deleting.

hmm maybe firmware got borked? i did have a headphone cable snap off in a chromebook at work once that I had to take the bottom off to push the pin out from the jack if a headphone cable can't fit in, the device still thinks there's an output there

I use opensuse which has a decent snapshot feature in snapper, pretty sure it needs BTRFS to run, but might be something to look into, if an update breaks something on mine I can roll back in under 5 minutes
