It's a few months late for me to be saying this, but since I just started a brand new game of DQVII Reimagined, can I just say what a brilliant artistic move it was to have our hero slumped over like this while getting the business from Maribel on frame one

This is the same opening scene in the Playstation original and the 3DS remake, but this is the first time they actually gave our hero an actual expression to show his chagrin at receiving another of what must be a constant barrage of harassment from his doting childhood sweetheart

Dang so I think I'm an Atari fan now :O like I def grew up a Nintendo Kid and remain so, but I've had a GREAT time with the nice Atari 2600 library I was given! Also for the first time tonight I opened a sealed 2600 game! It's Kangaroo! The value has now dropped from $20 to like $12!

Friends! Tonight I'll be hitting that Go Live button followed quickly by my Atari's one button as we continue the Treasure Hunt a.k.a. I play every physical game I own. We now have a paddle style controller, a special surprise game, AND a rare unboxing of an actual sealed 2600 game. See you at 9!

My hand hokding a Hyperkin "Ranger" controller, an Atari VCS compatible doohicky with one button, an analog stick, and a paddle wheel on the side. I tested it yesterday and it does work on my Atari 7800+ system, so now we can play paddle-required games!

What's up #randomgamesaturday enjoyers! This is Muchi Muchi Pork (left) and Pink Sweets (right) on Xbox 360, CAVE shooters that were released in Japan but non-region-locked for US shmup fans. Pink Sweets is apparently the hardest video game to 1cc clear, supposedly took the first person 10 years!

So there's a video out there on youtube called "the hardest games for every system" or something, and the guy basically challenges the typical subjective "this is the hardest game" opinions by compiling all of those opinions and polls and what-not into more scientific answers. Of course he then vetoes certain answers with his own subjective opinion, kinda rendering the whole thing pointless. Anyway he vetoed the Xbox 360 entry of Ninja Gaiden 3 to point out that Pink Sweets has a legendary reputation for difficulty from the shmup community, and dropped the uncited "fact" that it took 10 years for the first gamer to, at least on record, clear this game with 1 credit. Of course the home console port has infinite credits, and even the original arcade game had a glitch where you could get infinite lives from maxing out the game's 6 lives counter (which the 360 version removes), so if you're quarter-dumping (or "rich kid strats", as I call them), it's not that hard of a game to beat at all, you just have to get killed a million times lol.

Anyway after watching that video I was like, damn I would love to try Pink Sweets someday but it's Japan-only so it'll probably be a hassle to get, I guess I'll try some other time. Then, while cataloguing my collection, I found out I actually already have it ha ha. It was in a pile of CAVE and other shmup games I had bought from a friend since he was getting rid of all his physical games and wanted to sell his shmups to me because he knew I love them. I just didn't pay attention or couldn't read the Japanese and didn't realize I already had this notorious game right there on my shelf. I love when that happens, though now that 100% of my games are catalogued, it SHOULDN'T happen again!

Today's #randomgamesaturday is indeed a random one, as I ordered a game from eBay and the seller sent a message letting me know he may have sent the wrong thing, so when I got the mail today I was indeed surprised to randomly have a (second) copy of SaGa Frontier that I'll be sending back soon lol

If I didn't already own SaGa Frontier this would be kind of a boon, but in fact the game I ordered was a little rarer and more expensive. Namely SaGa Frontier 2 lol. You can imagine how the confusion happened, as both games have pretty similar looks at least if you're a shipper in a hurry. I really love this series though so I offered the guy some money to simply keep this one instead of sending it back. I'm sure I could find something to do with it, the disc is stunningly flawless for one thing!

Gave Square-Enix all my money BUT I'll be getting the Deluxe box of FFVII Revelation (thus completing the set, as I got the other 2 that way as well lol), plus I pre-ordered FF Resonance on Switch 1 because screw a game key card (I'll just download the Switch 2 version on sale many years from now)

WOW R.C. Pro-Am II is a huge score, I don't think I've ever seen that released digitally (it's 4 player, you know!) Ninja Gaiden III is also awesome since its main drawback has always been limited continues... now you can just save state your way to victory ha ha. Ikari Warriors is also there
