The November issue of #ScienceImmunology is out! This month's cover highlights how B cells can acquire antigens from large malarial parasites and recruit different types of CD4 T cell help, which could inform future vaccine designs for malaria. scim.ag/4oTNJMn
This month’s cover is a pseudocolored and digitally altered scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrograph of Plasmodium sporozoites (pale purple) attached to Ighg2A10 B cells (bright pink) at one end.

A landmark WEHI-led study has uncovered how our daily food choices are having an immediate effect on our gut health. Brilliant research led byDr Cyril Seillet and Dr Le Xiong, that could help pinpoint #chronicinflammation at the source. Now published in Immunity. www.wehi.edu.au/news/fast-fo...
Innate lymphoid cells 3 (ILC3s) are a subset of immune cells that are critical to gut immunity. When there is excess fat, such as after a rich meal, ILC3s store this fat in tiny lipid droplets to maintain their function. In this 3D illustration, we can see a lipid droplet (in orange) inside an ILC3.

Excited to see our work published on @cp-immunity.bsky.social. Also shared by a nice commentary. really like the last sentence: “Not all fuel nourishes; some, once ignited, may burn beyond control.”

Dietary fuel or fire: Fatty acids rewire gut ILC3s
Long-term consumption of diets high in fats has detrimental impacts on the immune system, but the window necessary for initiating these effects is unclear. In this issue of Immunity, Xiong et al. demo...

#WeekendRead! #NotAllFatIsEqual! @lexiong.bsky.social Seillet &co show @cp-immunity.bsky.social that #diet saturated fatty acids rapidly impair (while unsaturated fatty acids favor via lipid droplets) IL22 production by ILC3 supporting dysbiosis & gut permeability, exacerbating inflammation!

Acute exposure to high-fat diet impairs ILC3 functions and gut homeostasis
Xiong et al. report that short-term, high-fat diet exposure rapidly alters the gut microbial and immune environment, disrupting tissue homeostasis. IL-22 production by group 3 innate lymphoid cells (I...

Thrilled to share our work now published on @cp-immunity.bsky.social . Big thanks to our collaborators. Here we show that short-term High-Fat diet impairs ILC3 functions in producing IL-22 through microbiota-dependent and-independent mechanisms.

Happy one week of my @jem.org paper! Our work from the @groomlab.bsky.social at @wehi-research.bsky.social identifies using early IFN-I blockade alongside mRNA vaccination to direct CD8+ T cell positioning in the lymph node to drive Tscm cell differentiation and enhance vaccine protection

@benjbroom.bsky.social et al. @groomlab.bsky.social show that early type I interferon blockade alters CXCR3 chemokine regulation & cell location to promote an antigen-dependent CD8+ T cell transition of precursor of exhausted T cells to stem cell–like memory CD8+ T cells rupress.org/jem/article/...
