This is what six of the Supreme Court justices are fine with happening over the next few months as they wait to hear the case. Disgusting and inhumane. The only irreparable harm is that being inflicted on the people subject to this government-inflicted cruelty.

I still can't get over the fact that SCOTUS (minus Sotomayor, Kagan & Jackson) did this yesterday *on the shadow docket.* Nary a word of justification. Not even a nod to the lower court opinions finding it unlawful to deport to 3rd countries w/o due process to flag torture & persecution risks.

My theory: his staffers asked AI what NBA or NCAA men’s games happened on Feb 3. They thought they got him. The party claiming to “protect” women’s sports failed to consider people go to women’s sports ball. Hence Katie Britt’s look of shock because she thought she was the #1 protector of girl ball.

it's evidently too much to ask the rw justices to consider the irreparable harm to individuals treated to such inhumanity. they are complicit in this criminality. shame on all six of them. and shame on us for having a system that allows this illegality.

One of the biggest media failures (among many) of the past year has been the failure to cover the Venezuela "operation" for what it was--a smash-and-grab mafia state theft by the U.S. that violates international law and the rights of Venezuelans while achieving very damn little for the U.S.

This point has been exhausted, but it really is worth sitting with: under any other administration in recent memory, the ejection of disfavored news outlets followed by flagrant disregard of court orders would get wall-to-wall coverage and end political careers.

Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee, is staying the case over Trump's effort to fire Shira Perlmutter as head of the Copyright Office ... in case the Senate passes (and Trump signs into law) a House bill that would make Trump's ability to fire Perlmutter more clear.
MINUTE ORDER: Plaintiff Shira Perlmutter, the Library of Congress's Register of Copyrights, sues President Trump and several other federal officials, challenging the Trump Administration's attempts to remover her from that position.
ECF No. 1. Plaintiff--whose termination has been enjoined pending her appeal of this Court's denial of her request for a preliminary injunction, Perlmutter v. Blanche, No. 25-5285, 2025 WL 2627965, (D.C. Cir. Sept. 10, 2025)--alleges that those efforts were not lawful, in part because her position is not subject to Presidential appointment or removal. See ECF No. 1. The parties have cross-moved for summary judgment. ECF Nos. 49, 50. And since then, the parties filed supplemental memoranda addressing the effect of the Supreme Court's decision in Trump v. Slaughter, 609 U.S. _
(2026) on their motions. ECF No. 58, 59. Since those filings, the Court has become aware that in June, the House of Representatives passed by voice vote the Legislative Branch Agencies Clarification Act, which would spell out the structure of the Library of Congress and the Copyright Office. H.R. 6028, 119th Cong. (as passed by House, June 8,
2026). In particular, the bill would make clear that the Register of Copyrights is an officer "appointed by the President" with the advice and consent of the Senate. Id. § 6()(Bi)()(bb). The bill now awaits action in the Senate.

This is censorship. It is when the will of the people and those entrusted with decision-making capacity have their decisions truck down by the State. It is the illusion of power handed to stakeholders, while power itself is retained at the top. Phenomenal piece, @stephanaferrell.bsky.social.
The Florida Department of Education's annual lists never tell the whole story. Sometimes, the most revealing censorship happens after a community has already decided for itself. The message was unmistakable: A local community could follow its process, parents could participate in a public review, an elected board could uphold the committee's decision and the state could still override that judgment.

The conflation of AI-critical with technophobic is tactical & infuriating. While accusing us of just knee-jerk hating tech, they’re enshittifying search engines, degrading digital archives, sundowning or enclosing popular tools, etc. We were all happily using that tech!
