While I can't claim to have deep knowledge on the espionage thriller genre, I do enjoy it when I see it. I grew up watching the James Bond films with my father and while over time I came to see the various issues with those films, they still maintain a place in my heart, particularly with the genre. And Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty is literally one of my favorite game experiences ever.

So, Folio comes along and offers a working class version of the concept and its like, oooof its good. The characters are unabashed in their opinions, and its genuinely so delightful and refreshing. While I recognize the issues with killing IRL, it is still nice to enjoy it vicariously in fiction, where the issues of real life can be ignored some.

Jackie, Olivia, Chelle and Allegra are such a fun little gang. I was honestly shocked they didn't end up as a polycule, ngl. But then again, its fine and not every lesbian needs one. But Jemme if you're reading this, I'd really like it if Chelle and Allegra tried to sleep with each other. I think it'd be very funny as long as Allegra isn't very classist about the whole thing.

I will also say that it was quite interesting to see this sort of story told with a "realistic" background, in that we're watching them talk about Thatcher and her whole schtick. I feel like the only other time I've seen this sort of thing is Inglorious Bastards. Its a fascinating concept and its executed with a wonderful level of detail here. The book goes out of its way to talk about the effects on the country and how much things are struggling. I have no idea where things will go from here with Jackie's story but I definitely will be looking forward to seeing it!!
