I keep seeing people throw out the term "Covid Correction" for the mass layoffs we continue to see in the games industry. We're beyond that. It's far beyond the mass hiring during Covid. It's mismanagement, poor trend chasing, cuts of departments to use AI (not as much but happening), etc.

I've been silent on here for soooo long, mostly because I got a job, but all my art time has been spent on studies and designs for a project I'm not ready to announce yet, but rest assured I'm still here and still making art 💖

Cheers, Microsoft. One day we’ll be free from this rampant corporate greed and we’ll be able to create without fear of losing our jobs to the whims of these freaks. I’m proud of all of you that worked on eso, though of course there’s one writer in particular I couldn’t be more proud of 💜 #esofam

Tanlorin from eso sitting on the ground with a glass of wine in one hand, arm outstretched as if to cheer, wine spilling out, and a bottle of wine in the other hand, which they’re chugging from. The hand holding the bottle has the middle finger up.

I want to re-emphasize one part of this Xbox story: Half of the 3,200 cuts are happening today and half are happening in the next 12 months. In other words, even people who survived today's layoffs will have to spend the coming year wondering if they're going to be next.

I'll have more to say in the coming days, but for now I wanted to share a bit of my writing from the Night Market that I felt captured some of my feelings in this moment.

ESO's in-game system mail with a message titled, "For Your Insatiable Curiosity." It reads:

"Our Thousand Eyes remained unblinking in the face adversity! They dismissed us as pests without any regard for our drive! To discover the unknown is written in our very nature! It should be of no surprise that we, above all others, would be the ones to map and catalog and scurry across the districts.

Your efforts, dear Eye of mine, will be remembered long after the memory of you fades as all motes of light do in the eternal darkness that awaits us.

And yet! It is this day that you are celebrated! This era in which you have made your mark! Rage against those who would dismiss us—dismiss you! Rage! Rage! Rage!

-Molto the Whisperer
as transcribed by his speaker, Melandir."

asha sharma going "we want 1 billion players a day" a nice reminder that these execs are fundamentally incapable of understanding that their customers do not have infinite money or even just that time is finite. they just think you haven't been fed the right marketing yet to get you on board

Hi #portfolioday I'm Leo, a transmasc artist who focuses mainly on fanart and fantasy art. I've been designing stickers that will hopefully be available later this year, and commissions are open now on my kofi! ko-fi.com/aspenditchart

Laios from Dungeon Meshi as the Fool card from tarot. He's carelessly and happily strolling along, teetering on the edge of a staircase, presumably going down into the dungeon. His sword is over his shoulder with a bag hanging on the end of it, and he's holding a little white flower. Next to him where there would traditionally be a little dog, there is instead Izutsumi as a cat.

A painterly drawing of Jinbe from One Piece. He's standing on the deck of the Thousand Sunny holding a hose which he's spraying directly above him and letting it fall down over him. His face is lifted to the spray and he's smiling. The sun behind the water is creating a lens flare.

digital painting of Rafayel from Love and Deepspace in his merman form and MC, who has medium-toned skin, reddish brown hair in a bun, green eyes, and an aquiline nose. They are in the shallows of a tropical ocean, MC is sitting on a rocky outcropping with her legs dangling in the water and Rafayel is swimming up to her. They're gazing into each others eyes, MC has her hand on Rafayel's shoulder and he has one hand on her thigh and the other on the back of her neck.

This applies to everything, for the record. The theme park. The video games. Fanfic. All of it. JKR owns Harry Potter. Singularly. It is HER franchise, full stop. Even if you try and justify whatever fan-created works you like as not giving her money, it still promotes the franchise as an entity

A strategy I am recommending to people who don’t want to mask all the time is always in healthcare facilities and public transportation, AND if you see someone in a mask, put yours on. The first helps protect spaces high risk people may have no choice but to go, the second shows them support.

haven’t posted something new in a little bit so have a WIP #loveanddeepspace #lads (commissions open via ko-fi if you want your mc with your main, link in bio 🥰)

unfinished work (lines and flats) of Rafayel from love and deepspace with MC who in this version has medium toned skin, reddish brown hair in a bun, green eyes, and an aquiline nose. Rafayel is in his merman form and appears to be swimming up to MC who is wearing an olive green swimsuit. there is no background yet but there is a light blue line indicating the waterline

Help a trans artist fix his shitbox car! Get some art out of it! Want me to draw your blorbo from your shows? I'll do that! Want me to draw your dnd character or other OC? I'll do that too! Head over to ko-fi.com/aspenditchart <3 #commissions #artcomms #dnd

A commissions sheet that reads "COMMISSIONS by aspenditchart" at the top. Next to it in a little bubble it says "SFW or NSFW". The first tier is single character half body for $50 and next to it is a sample of my drawing of Sanji from One Piece in lingerie. The second tier is two characters half body for $75 and next to it is a sample of my drawing of Minthara from bg3 and my OC. The third tier is single character full body for $75 and next to it is a sample of my drawing of Zoro from One Piece skinny dipping in the ocean (with a fish keeping him modest.) The fourth tier is two characters full body for $100 and next to it is a sample of my drawing of Nami and Carrot from One Piece embracing in the night sky surrounded by lightning.

Combining my two fixations by redrawing the Onosato heel click as Jinbe dunking on Who's Who #onepiece #sumo #jinbe #onosato

a painterly illustration of Jinbe and Who's Who from One Piece. The characters are shown from behind. Who's Who, a thin man in a red suit with a red horned helmet and long pink hair, is in the process of falling flat on his face. Jinbe, a fat, muscular, blue fishman with mid length curly graying black hair, is airborn with his heels mid-click.
