The celebrities have reminded the producers what we love about it - the comedy of people having to lie to people they like. The normal traitors went so Jeremy Kyle-esque with bullying. It was boring. It's great now!

TBF it's a good idea if the policy incorporates OT support for recovery, not just the sick note bit. But extra funding wouldn't make a difference in the short term to deliver the policy. There's already a national shortage and services are already stretched too thin. She'd need a plan for more OTs..

This is a side show from #Hegseth to distract us and get us all frothing. When they do something like this, we need to train ourselves to look hard in the other direction. The scariest thing about his announcements was the 20% cut of leadership - further centralising political control over troops.

Leish @leish2.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
I think this is intentionally controversial to distract everyone from the 20% cut of leadership - consolidating centralised control over troops. Leaders in the forces are a vital firebreak between politicians and actions of troops.

📢 The PM'S promise to amend the triple lock next parliament is good news for the public finances, and for the vulnerable pensioners who lose far more from a broken care system than they gain from a random ratchet on their pension ⤵️
Ruth Curtice, Chief Executive of the Resolution Foundation, said:
“The triple lock is a terribly designed policy that has cost far more than originally anticipated and yet failed to reduce pensioner poverty. The Prime Minister has been under pressure to show that he can take tough decisions on public spending – and scrapping the triple lock is a good way to demonstrate that.
“Recycling the savings from scrapping the triple lock into social care will especially help vulnerable pensioners who stand to lose far from a broken care system than they gain from a random ratchet on how the State Pension is increased.”

A feud? It's being reported that one of the pilots deliberately forced the Boeing 737 MAX 8 into a steep nosedive. The other pilot has to fight them and saved the plane. That's not a feud. That's heroic.
