engineering degree at Northumbria University. As North of Tyne Mayor I created thousands of real living wage jobs and built affordable homes. In my 5 years as Mayor I claimed £O expenses.
Councillors should be shop stewards for the community in the council, not cheerleaders for the council in the community. I've been an anti-racist campaigner since the late 1980's. I'm pro-trans and LGBTQ+ rights and a White Ribbon ambassador, the campaign for men to speak out against violence against women and girls.

@greenparty.org.uk has selected me to run for Monument ward in May. That’s the ward I represented before I was Mayor. I’ll be part of an increasingly strong Green team. Greens won the recent South Jesmond by-election. Labour vote fell from 43% to 17%, most switching to the Greens. Article below.
