#NationalPoetryDay: 'To Mary Anning' by John Kenyon (1784–1856), written after he met her in Lyme Regis in the autumn of 1836 and published in his 'Poems for the most part occasional' (1838). More recently, Mary Anning has featured in the work of at least nine modern poets.

Like the text ones, these ‘AI art detection tools’ are built on a false premise – that features common to genAI images can be used to identify them. But all too often, those features are common because they’ve *been stolen from the most popular art styles*, which undermines the original artists.

2,000 year-old Roman silver wine cup decorated with olive branches. From the famous silverware collection found in the cellar of the House of Menander at Pompeii. Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli 📷 by me #ReliefWednesday #Archaeology
My photo shows a two-handled silver drinking cup on display at the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. The body of the cup is densely decorated in high relief with olive branches laden with olives and leaves.

This cup forms part of the famous Roman silverware collection found in a wooden chest in the cellar of the House of Menander at Pompeii during excavations in 1930.

It’s thought the silverware was hidden in a chest in the basement of the house during restoration works following the earthquake of AD 62.
