The in-built speech-to-text accessibility function on my Mac has gotten much worse over the past year. It used to do a passable job. Now it's gibberish. #enshittification

Love the idea that you can be "Adorn'd with Cuts." Go on: embellish with absence Nicholas Rowe, 1709 From @archive.org archive.org/details/work...
Frontispiece and Title page of Nicholas Rowe's 1709 Shakespeare Works. Frontispiece has a portrait of Shakespeare surrounded by angels and admiring classical women. Title page reads: "The Works of Mr William Shakespear; in Six Volumes. Adorned with Cuts. Revis'd and Corrected, with an Account of the Life and Writings of the Author. By N. ROWE, Esq: LONDON: Printed for Jacob Tonson, with Grays Inn Gate next Grays-Inn Lane MDCCIX"

Nova Scotia has quietly updated its vaccines page: we can book COVID, flu, and other vaccinations again. See here: novascotia.canimmunize.ca/en/booking/c... . You'll note I'm avoiding NSHealth's "seasonal" classification. COVID numbers do seem lower lately (yay!), but COVID ain't seasonal. 😷

I have been trying to divest from Google as much as possible, so turned to DuckDuckGo for search. DuckDuckGo is terrible at phrase searching though: if you put an article title in quotation marks, it tells you it can't find it, when Google can find the article in multiple places. SIGH.

Yes, I'm sure there are between 3000 and 5000 business professionals just dying to think about early modern drama and seventeenth-century English manuscript culture. AI academic spam is hilarious (until you think about the environmental costs)
Body of an email:

Each month, we bring together between 3000 and 5000 business professionals around one featured book for a 30 day reading and engagement experience. Rather than simply putting a title in front of people, we give readers an opportunity to discover the work, explore its ideas, exchange perspectives, and talk about what genuinely stayed with them.

Dramatic Extracts in Seventeenth Century English Manuscripts particularly caught my attention because it looks at something readers have been doing for centuries without always realizing its significance. Your exploration of how people selected, copied, altered, appropriated, and gave new contexts to passages from plays raises a fascinating question about the relationship between a reader and a text. The idea that different readers can bring a work to life in different ways feels especially suited to the kind of thoughtful exchange our community enjoys.
