In 33 of 38 studies, women were less likely to get treatment! After a heart attack, women get meds while men have surgery. Men w Parkinson’s get deep brain stimulation. Men w liver failure get a transplant. Female kidney patients use a catheter longer. Women are less likely to get opioids for pain.

As AI data centers expand, their public-health impacts deserve greater attention. A new @enviroprotnet.bsky.social report examines how pollution from the power plants, generators and other infrastructure supporting data centers can affect communities well beyond data-center sites.

Postpartum psychosis is thought to affect 1-2 in every 1000 postpartum parents though it is neither funded nor studied. It likely affects more than that. We have no idea because - it isn’t actually studied

Trump is signing an executive order today recommending that the MMR vaccine be separated into separate vaccines. There is no scientific basis for this recommendation. Separate measles, mumps and rubella vaccines are generally not available in the U.S. Vaccines do not cause autism.

As of this week, cases of cyclosporiasis are still rising throughout the country. Federal health officials continue to investigate, believing there could be multiple outbreaks from different sources, beyond the outbreak linked to iceberg lettuce grown by Taylor Farms.

Yesterday the CDC finally updated its data on the outbreak of diarrhea caused by the Cyclospora parasite, which has affected thousands of people. So far, cases have been confirmed in 31 states.
