Koboa's immediate neighbor is Viringerion. Past that, stories abound of the shattered states, a land of magnificent floating cities shackled to the mountains, maintained by an underclass of people whole those in the form of eagles soar overhead

On to subclasses! First off, Barbarian. Barbarian was an interesting class to take on in Koboa because it has so much racist baggage attached to it. D&D as a whole has this concept of "civilized" people vs. uncivilized people, and big surprise, the euro-centric ones are often portrayed as civilized

while the non-eurocentric ones are presented as uncivilized. Thus, non-eurocentric cultures are often represented in the Barbarian and Druid subclasses. This is especially harmful with Barbarians since the trope for barbarians has been unintelligent, unregulated, illiterate.

And frankly, that depiction is more historically accurate to depict conquistadores in the colonial age of South America than to depict the people they were oppressing. So we decided we'd find a way to center the Barbarian and Druid subclasses around Larensian culture, to invert the trope.

So we pivoted that subclass into the idea of an ex-conquistador: someone with the Koboan conquistador's powers, that has decided to use that privilege to be an ally to those they once marginalized. Koboan conquistadores have magic to spread disease, so this one uses viruses to empower allies.

Due to the broken state of this form's Map, the full form of the kaliwaya hasn’t been seen in Koboa in generations. Those who manifest the partial Map take on different features of the form, the most common being power over words and stories, and web-like patterns tracing across their entire body.

The form of the ghintak has hair of flame that blazes with magical fire when threatened. Its manifesters have pointed ears and rear-facing feet. The form grants limited magical capability as well as the ability to mimic unknown languages.

I was tempted to pirate HP, curiosity and all that. But @jessiegender.bsky.social is right - think of the amount of times HBO commented on GOT leaks and downloads, just as an example. They DO track these things, and even that drives interest. Let this show die. Trans people deserve better.

ICE took two more people from my local courthouse today. The wife of one of the guys who was taken showed up shortly after. She just had surgery. She was worried about paying rent and feeding her kids. This is happening *every day* in Massachusetts. Lives are being destroyed every single day.
