BOAS IDEIAS PRA JOGO NUNCA FALTAM

- Custo de tempo/implementação;
- Deficiência de recurso/hardware;
- Conflito com o tema/estética;

Game Design Talk, let's go: One of the hardest things to figure out when making a good game is balancing. The concept is kinda easy: game should be challenging but *just enough*, while providing help but not *too much*. On a scale where 0 is assisted and 10 is ruthless challenge, we aim for a *6*.

I really loved to design these pages. It was a fun way of transforming the boring work I used to do for big publishers back in the day into something fun and dumb and that I'm proud of.

1d6 theories about the Unseen One, our fantasy version of Banksy

Coming up with uses for open licensed stock photographs was awesome.

the whole guide would have had 12 islands, each with a funny theme and hooks for adventures.

We made fake advertisements and sponsored articles. Each island would have their own visual theme.

Page with ads for "Starstruck industries" and the Editor's note and index.

Capricorn Island is a resort. It has the only bank in the isles (witch is also a casino)

Virgo Island is a hideout for bandits with a secret entrance.

Back in 2022, I teamed up with @raulranma.bsky.social to make a supplement for Brave Zenith for RPGLATAM JAM 2022. It was styled like a Travel Guide and presented an archipelago called Zodiac Isles. We couldn't finish it on time. But it was awesome.

Cover with a background of a blue starry night sky
Text reads: The Definitive Travel Guide to THE ZODIAC ISLES Volume 01

In this issue:
The Luxurious Capricorn Island
The Sturdy Aquarius Island
The Mysterious Virgo Island
The Artistic Libra Island

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.
