I love this season of #JetLagTheGame for how they've now almost killed someone twice. First is Tom Scott getting heat exhasution and nearly blacking out and then Sam fed Ben a raw ginkgo nut which is very poisonous, and he did spit it out, thankfully, but goddamn.

I've gotten big, buff dudes who were following me down a dark street at night to run by just screaming "LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE" as loud as I could. These men are expecting you to just get scared and uncomfortable and run away from them, and that's what society has conditioned you to do.

Remember that one lady who responded to catcalls by loudly and enthusiastically asking the guy out and how they all immediately ran? That's why. They aren't brave enough to do anything to you, they just wanna scare you, and you do not have to give them what they want.

The bog-standard public creep is legit just a sad little man who feels powerless and wants to scare a woman because it makes him feel powerful, if you remind him of how powerless he really is he won't know what to do and will probably just fuck off. It's awesome, can't recommend it enough.

The real thing the patriarchy doesn't want women to know is the average cat-caller or sidewalk creep is actually WAY more scared of you than you have any reason to be scared of him and I can confirm if you meet his bullshit with bared teeth he will crumble like dust, and it feels fucking fantastic.

A lot of people comfort themselves by saying, even if subconsciously, that while the death penalty is wrong at least when it does happen it's done with a humane injection done by a trained doctor with specific drugs designed to kill someone painlessly but that is simply not true at all.

The worst thing about this really is that a firing squad would actually be more humane than the injection. Neither should be allowed ever at all, but the injection is by far the worst possible way to execute someone tied with electrocution. It's torture. Don't pretend it isn't.

If you assume the injection was done by doctors or nurses you're wrong. If you assume it's done flawlessly most of the time you're wrong. If you assume the drugs are designed for it and always work you're wrong. If you assume it's the best option you're VERY wrong. There's nothing okay about it.

Don't lend the lethal injection any credibility it isn't owed. You can pretend it's okay bcs "at least the injection is humane" but it's not. It's not humane or okay, there is no form of the death penalty that is okay. Every person that dies this way is tortured to death. Every single one.

Like we as leftists should not pretend there's anything humane about the lethal injection, it's legit worse than basically any other method of killing someone. Pretending otherwise doesn't do anything good. It is not painless, it is not humane, it should never EVER be allowed.

-with drugs that are not designed to kill someone, let alone kill them painlessly. It should be banned forever, but like the most horrifying thing really is that the people saying a firing squad would be better are right. Lethal injection is a horrific way to die. It should not be allowed at all.
