This week’s #SundaySentence from the POV of a dog, comes from Country People by Daniel Mason: He had only been outside once, but in that short time, he’d gathered from the winds a tale of roots and moles and worms, of ghosts hidden within the leaf-fall, of rats and springtails, mosses, snakes.

“Pink Moon” by Roshan James
“What The Soul Doesn’t Want” by Lorna Crozier

What happens when you overwhelm the well that represents your energy and wellbeing? It's drained, and you burn out. All you can do next is refresh and refill it to sustain yourself again.

Refilling The Well is a poetry chapbook that reflects on the harms of hustle culture and societal expectations of reaching success, including burnout. It also reflects on how to heal from burnout and remembering that you're more than just your accomplishments. Fans of Lang Leav and Atticus will enjoy Refilling The Well's free verse poetry.

Available on Amazon and Itch.io!
If you liked reading these Canadian authors:

It's easy to overlook the genius of Beatrix Potter (July 28, 1866-Dec. 22, 1943) now that Peter Rabbit & Co. have become cultural wallpaper. (She created the 1st character merchandise.) She willed her property to the National Trust, and it became the Lake District. #booksky #writers #illustrators
A Potter illustration of a Toad Tea Party, which she created for her Apply Dapply Nursery Rhymes, published in 1905. Toads sit around toad stool table as if they are having a tea party with a cake in the middle of the table. Added text is "We must save a slice for Beatrix . It's her birthday you know."

Black and white photo of a white boy (tween or young teen I guess?) in a cowboy shirt and hat, looking seriously at a shorthaired white kitten he is petting. A screenshot that reads: "Fact were' in the 'Twenties' sounds so weird. It's so synonymous with the 1920s. Sounds like a bygone era when women were still fighting for their rights, the upper classes were living a life of hedonism whilst people starved & the world was on the verge of financial ruin and war."
