Mid homework crisis (THANKS, ADHD!) naturally I went to the Garden Museum. In a 1,000 year old church with a cheerful cafe, it holds the tomb of Adm William Bligh, who facilitated the slave trade. It’s not all grim- there’s fun British garden history & lovely art #garden #museum #botanical

What's better than Batman or Hellboy punching Nazis? Batman and Hellboy teaming up to punch Nazis together. This Nazi Punch of the Day comes from the 2010 "Hellboy: Masks and Monsters." #NaziPunching #NPotD

Today in random stuff from my collection, this Dick Tracy & Little Orphan Annie print by Joe Staton. From when Annie showed up in the Dick Tracy strip a few years ago while Joe was the artist.

Dick, Annie, and her dog, Sandy, stand in the center, with headshots of three other characters on each side.

“People get very complacent driving cars, because it’s easy, and you are very protected and you’re very isolated inside your car. It’s easy to forget that there’s a huge amount of energy inside a car, even when it’s only going 20 or 30mph."

I just deactivated my old Twitter/X account and can delete it (so they say) in a month. Adorably, the X archive I downloaded all makes reference to to Twitter, not X, because I guess changing words on a computer is hard! De-Musking feels good! #X #Twitter #cleanse

Today my class was fortunate to have the run of Great Dixter as guests of Fergus the Mad Plantsman. Lutyens added to the Tudor original and the garden is glorious even now. #garden #daffodils #England #flowers #GreatDixter

My suggestion to Europe is to let not one single solitary thing slide. Apply the law, unlike the United States did. We just pointed and yelled, but did fucking nothing about it. And now look at this shit. #Trump #America #PoliticalCartoon

William Martin,The Parent's Tao Te Ching

“Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives.
Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is the way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
in the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.”
The extraordinary will take care of itself.

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Much Ado in London! A whacky, energetic production! Dancing, singing, a bizarre & delightful set & a dumbed-down script of an already pretty dumb story, it was an absolute joy. I have never in my life seen such an outpouring of love from an audience!

CNN interviewed more than a dozen experts, and they said that no fire hydrants would have been able to stop the LA wildfires with the high winds. “I don’t know a water system in the world that is that prepared for this type of event,” said one expert.

No ‘water system in the world’ could have handled the LA fires. How the region could have minimized the damage | CNN

Widespread destruction from the L.A. fires was inevitable, given the drought and winds. Still, the region could have been better prepared.
