As someone who does workplace training, this is an invaluable lesson. Training alone doesn't do anything if people aren't being held accountable. Introducing a standard while failing to uphold the standard makes the standard and future trainings a farce. Lots to love in this thread 👇

Hubby hired someone to help out with his business (he's an entrepreneur) and he really worked through the hiring process, we worked through having more than one very good candidate, and he hired the one he felt like best connected with. And I can hear them connecting and laughing over zoom, proud.

I don't really want to give FIFA any credit, but I did enjoy the expanded tournament this time. We got to see so many new teams, and the extra round gave us more time before our focus was narrowed to the powerhouses in the final four. I did enjoy that aspect a lot.

I've never had Tres Leches cake before, and for family dinner this week, I made an attempt - gluten-free cake, and all three milks were a coconut-based option. So I leaned into it and added a pineapple juice reduction to the milk, and had lime zest in the cake and on top. I'm a believer, it so good.

Finishing up a Hobbit and LOTR rewatch, something I'm noticing this time: Sean Astin does some really wonderful facial acting starting in the scene where Frodo wakes up alive and is greeted by the living members of the Fellowship. You can see so many expressions subtly through the tired veneer.

My parents met as Youth Ministers in the Bay area in the 80s, where there was a big focus on spirituality. My mom remained a youth minister until retirement and our youth group watched Life Teen and Homer Simpson-ed our way into the nearest bush.

The need for control comes further forward - Trump not only wants us to obey all law-enforcement and military without question, but he is indicating which branches should get the most deference? The ones that align with him the most. He will continue to denigrate any branch that doesn't.

Dear sweet husband is consistently perplexed by professional sports. He has it stuck in his mind that players should exclusively play for their local teams, so the fact that the USA has players who spend most of their time with Canadian NHL teams, and vice versa, is truly confounding to him.

Definitely, I mean, it wasn't that long ago the Czechia and Slovakia were regular spoilers. Russia was always in the mix. And we have absolutely seen the development of players in Germany, Switzerland, even Denmark. Its making this tournament even enjoyable to watch.
