Series like the Elder Scrolls and its molding community pre-LLM are a huge example of this. Most that play it aren't really playing it for the main story, they are playing it as a giant fantasy sandbox that they can tweak and add a lot of personal touches to.

A lot of people just see video games as toys and it sucks. I remember mentioning JRPGs are my favorite genre and outside of those who just aren't into the writing, I'd get responses from people like "why don't you just read a book or watch a movie"

Sadly I am not too surprised there are people like this because even back in the day, I noticed there are a lot of people who wouldn't play video games unless they could personalize multiple facets of it. I get there's an art to that too, but there's people that definitely will take it this far.

Gaming chat app Discord has suffered another user data breach, with a suspected 1 million email addresses stolen alongside (potentially many more) user IDs and IP addresses. While Discord was not targeted directly, third party security service Double Counter have reported a "deliberate, multi-stage attack" wherein hackers spent nearly six hours poking around their infrastructure before the vulnerability was closed.

Double Counter essentially acts as a bouncer bot for Discord servers, promising to detect and block unsanctioned alt accounts and prevent hostile 'raids' by large groups of malicious users. While its efficacy in that mission is debated by Discord users, and the service has previously been accused of selling user data for revenue, the fact is that Double Counter can collect and store personal info of the users that visit its 'protected' servers. Info that, now, has been partly or entirely nicked by Internet miscreants.

By Double Counter’s own estimates, around 1 million user email addresses have been affected, with databases of Discord IDs, usernames, IP addresses, and even location info for up to 28 million users also "partly" copied by the hackers. Security breach trackers Have I Been Pwned further report that 275,000 of the pinched emails and usernames have since been posted publicly.

Something interesting about the underworld blaze art gauge meter is that cai/theo has control (reduce gauge), tali/dietrich has unyeilding (negates burst hp reduction), leda/bert has madness (raises gauge early and keeps overblaze after burst) Gameplay/story integration be doing work here

From what little I've seen I think the original poster is amused that is broke containment, but I'd rather respect their wishes if they ended up asking me to delete it. It's likely going to stay up. If he wanted me to remove it I'm sure he would have asked me already.

Yeah on most older Fire Emblem games I try to use save states only to suspend in the middle of a map when I have to stop playing and not to lower the difficulty. Helps that on most of them the maps aren't very long.

Yeah like, I'll admit JRPG writing can be very... dramatic sometimes? But sometimes this reads like "I am afraid to say I truly enjoy something that wears its emotions on its sleeve" rather than it actually being bad.

But I have no idea when Island Walker will be done. Orange as it is right now is very good though. The only thing missing is one of the islands in the post-game.

Part of me swears there's some odd unknown exclusivity deal since the only modern way to play it is on PS4 Either way. If you want I kinda recommend emulating the PSX version because the campy voice acting is fun.

Basically if they forked it, I bet it would have been more fine.
