He has removed his hat in one hand and is scratching his head with the other. The wood elf is just absolutely covered in thin wispy body hair, creating a halo of fuzz around him, and long whiskers grow out of his facial hair, back, and arms.

#RoArt | #RoOCs | #TheGodsMarble | #GeorgeAndSons An NPC wood elf family living in Vitroneaux running a carpentry business from their wagon. Wood elves aren't very common in Vitroneaux nor do they stay for long so they're seen as a bit of an exotic oddity.

A series of sketches depicting a small family of Wood Elves and a mule running a carpentry business titled George & Sons Carpentry.
Each sketch has a series of notes surrounding them to describe their character.

So my feet are killing me with this new job but I picked up some heel and metatarsal gel cushions to wear that I can attach to me without having to insert them inside my shoes first. And. Picked up some possum repellent to put on my garden this year bc they destroyed my crop last year. Never used it before. But lawd! I think I pepper-sprayed myself with a little bit that blew back in the wind. My lip is still burning hours later. I guess I know how it works now.

Talita points at her face, relaxing her eyes into a half-lidded position and her lip corners into a droop. The impression is similar to a human glower or displeased frown. Verengt: Is that why you're doing all this with your eyelids⁇ Their trunk curls into a smile, and they mimic the expressions Talita makes with her nictitating membranes, gesturing similarly with a hand. Verengt: I thought you were just very anxious! Talita glances away in embarrassment, rubbing her neck with a hand. Talita: Er... Well… It may be both. Verengt: I've never met another dwaull like you. I look forward to talking more!

Talita's expression falls. Talita: I’m so sorry, I don’t know what Mel told you… But I’m actually… leaving this place. Tonight. Verengt: Ah, so we won’t be working with you? Talita: No… Verengt: A shame! But we would never keep you from traveling. Talita: Is there any way I could contact you from space? I hate to leave you without any help adjusting to the job. Verengt grimaces and reaches underneath the cloak covering their back. Verengt: Partwack… my children are better with alien technology than me…

Verengt: But I do have this… They lift their cloak, briefly revealing the six larvae clinging to their back. They are round and chubby with vertical stripes, and each is chewing on the end of a silk thread produced from a pair of spinnerets emerging where a tail would be on a mammal. Talita looks down at them in delight and wonder. Verengt pulls a phone out of their pocket and drops the cape, peering at the screen with a monocle corded to the phone case. Verengt: If you give me the number of your phone, I can send messages to it. Talita: Oh! Yes! Of course. Verengt pops the monocle into the socket on the back of their phone and hands it to Talita, who enters her phone number on the screen's extremely large text input. She hands it back to Verengt. Talita: If you have any questions at all, contact me. The equipment is designed for humans, so you to have to be creative to get some of it to work.

Verengt: I will send messages to you, Talita. Have a safe migration! They step back to rejoin the three other centaurs, making a downwards gesture with an open palm. The other three repeat the gesture. Talita is slightly confused, but beaming with a returned trunk smile anyways. Talita: ...Yeah! Talita walks with a fleet of autonomously driven trucks full of luggage through the plant, and out towards the main airlock. There, near the same lockers that Talita used to suit up with the temp workers, Idrisah and Gillie are putting on their company-assigned exosuits. Talita: Sorry I'm late. Idrisah: No problem, you're... Ugh! She fumbles the ring of the hip gasket and her pants drop down to her knees, dangling by a fluid cooling linkup. Talita smiles, this time with her mouth. Talita: Need help? Idrisah looks at her, apologetic. Idrisah: Yes please.

NEW ADVICE-FROM-LIEBER LIST! I've posted these tips as a thread before, but I figured it's about time I made it available as a single, shareable image.

MISTAKES I'VE MADE THAT YOU CAN AVOID
Don't be like me.
1. Don't trash your own work when complemented. In that context your self-deprecation is insulting someone else's taste! Just say thanks and change the subject. Maybe credit an influence?
2. As far as your readers are concerned, comics are drawn with a printing press or a monitor. Don't fetishize the original art or the tools you make it. Anything that gets the story told the way it needs to be told is the right tool for the job.
3. Don't use one job to audition for another. It's unfair to your collaborators and a betrayal of the reader to get flashy or sexy or explosive if the moment in the story doesn't call for it.
4. The important storytelling choices on a page can be worked out in thumbnails. Gesture, camera angle, framing, broad arrangement of tones-get this stuff right before you worry about anatomy, lighting, drapery, or facial expressions.
5. Some artists can put down a final inkline with no underdrawing, but that's because they're skilled and experienced enough to do all that underdrawing in their head. You probably aren't. Get your underdrawing right and save the masterstrokes for the masters.
6. What you're feeling while you work doesn't matter. What the audience feels when they read it does. You can be happy and still do a great drawing of someone in agony. You should understand what you're depicting. It's not necessary to experience it in real time at the board.
7. Get a fresh eye on your work. You never know when some accidental juxtaposition is going to completely change your intended meaning.
8. Don't let getting things 100% right keep you from getting things done. It's easy to get bogged down in research or prep sketches. Make a schedule at the start of a project so you know how much time you have. Do the best you can with the time allotted and move on. But...

I actually draw a lot more things than I ever share outside of my very small friend circles but most of it is collaborative work on Garble props, assets, and NPCs that I don't feel comfortable sharing online without the other people involved being present.

#OCAsk #Marloix cannot shapeshift, but he can cast some illusory spells to make himself appear as another person. Can easily be seen through if someone knows what to look for but it serves it's purpose.

hating your art is not a virtue, it's a sign of burn out or mental illness. the same way your muscles ache if you exercise too much or your stomach hurts if you're starving. learn to identify it as a sign you're pushing too hard or expecting too much of yourself somehow and check in with yourself.

#OCAsk I'm not sure I understand what this question is asking/accusing, or its worded poorly. A lot of my characters end up traumatized due to the events of their story. I do not traumatize them on purpose for fun, but they DO develop accordingly.
