A fantastic early 17th century memorial to Adlard Aprece. The colours and details are and great and the inscription is worth zooming in on and deciphering 😀 St. Peter’s Church, Lutton, Northamptonshire.

Design legend Margaret Calvert is 90 today. Look at that cake! If you've ever admired a road, rail or metro sign in Britain it's likely she had something to do with it. One of Britain's design heroes - happy birthday to her. Photo by: @oshgallerylondon (IG) Cake by: mybaker.co

🦇 Nocte Volamus = We Fly by Night 🦇 The best motto to have around #Halloween time for your heraldic bookplate. This particular bookplate comes from our Charles Hall Crouch collection of heraldic bookplates, which encompasses around 30-40,000 bookplates in 73 boxes!
A bookplate in the shape of a shield. It has three bat wings in the middle, with a small lion above. At the top is another bat wing with black spots on it. The phrase 'nocte volamus' is at the bottom.

Is it really *that hard* to say that it is totally morally wrong to say to people who have come here legally, worked, paid taxes, built their lives here, contributed to Britain, that they have to fuck off now, rather than "unfunded".

The 2026 Senedd Election is becoming a very direct battle between two identities, Welsh Wales and British Wales. This map nearly reflects exactly the general state of play 1081-1284, the division between the areas ruled by Welsh princes and those by conquering Anglo-Norman barons.

This heraldic roll was made during the reign of Henry VIII, c.1529/30. The shields are emblazoned in their proper colours & the names of the families to whom they belong are written above. Shields are painted on the front & back – some 420 in total. The roll measures approximately 12ft in length.
A heraldic roll, with 5 shields per row, all from different houses.
