Belated art for #drawtober day 1. Basically did a picker wheel and chose a prompt through that and for day 1, we have my "World of Unicorns" concept, where the Conquistadors learned the hard way not to mess with River unicorns. #unicorn #fantasy

from "A world of unicorns" concept. Background is a light blue. A conquistador stands with an annoyed expression, waving a short spear towards a small blue and green unicorn that looks scared. Behind the conquistador appears a much larger, angry looking unicorn that snorts against his neck.

Here is the rough drawing I am working on so far. I have a concept universe called "A world of Unicorns" where humans live alongside unicorns. Among them are River Unicorns, which changes size, depending on the size of their river. The big boy vs the Conquistor represents the amazonian rivers.

It feels like only a few days ago, that my mom and I went to a concert in Copenhagen for Dolly Parton, based on her album Blue Smoke. I'm so glad I got to have that experience when it came to Dolly. We'll miss you Dolly, and we'll always love you.

The one on the left is just plain text, but it's so much clearer because... well, you know what you're getting. It catches my eye more, because of its simplicity. I expect good, proper cooked food. The AI one just makes me think 'oh, they don't take their business seriously.' /end

KSClaw @ksclaw.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Even without it being crappy AI, the one with art is just WAY too overstimulating and unclear. Had they been smaller, simpler drawings (hand drawn or even just simple vector drawings), it might have been more appealing. /1

Singaporean artist Leia Ham reimagined LotR as Tale of the Middle Kingdom, since Chinese name for China (Zhōngguó) means "The Middle Kingdom." Her concept art includes the Fellowship, armors, buildings like Bag End, props like Aragorn's banner and Fellowship brooches, and more. #TolkienTrewsday

An illustration of the Fellowship, reimagined with Chinese-style period outfits.

An illustration of armors of Gondor, Rohan, and Rivendell Elves, reimagined using different periods of Chinese armors as concepts. On the top right are three side profiles of Rohan man, Gondorian, and Elf with different Chinese hairstyles. On the bottom right is Aragorn's banner redrawn with Chinese influence.

A concept art of Bag End reimagined as Chinese court houses, with tall stone gates, round wooden doors, curved roofs, and open courtyard, nestled in a hill.

A concept art of Rivendell in the style of Chinese painting. Next to it are several props drawn in Chinese style such as Fellowship brooch based on gingko leaves, lembas in the shape of mooncake, Elfstone as round jade, Galadriel's phial in a green jade bottle, and shards of Narsil.
