IJdelheid werd als een zonde beschouwd: anders zouden kloppen de met liefde gemaakte kunstwerken vaker hebben gesigneerd. Dat is helaas niet het geval. Wellicht krijgen deze handwerken daarom zelden aandacht. Musea beschouwen deze vrouwenkunst te vaak als ‘volkskunst’. Daarom dit 🧶 .

07 October: Memorial of Our Lady of the Rosary. This feast was instituted by Pope Pius V to celebrate the defeat of the Turks at the battle of Lepanto in 1571. It was felt the prayers of the Rosary confraternity in Rome helped in the victory. Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us!

01 October: Memorial of St Thérèse of the Child Jesus (1873-1897), Virgin, Doctor. Known as the "Little Flower", she joined a Carmelite convent at age 15. Ill health prevented her from missionary work so she lived her life doing small tasks with love. St Thérèse, pray for us!

The story of a Catholic priest ministering in Ground Zero on 9/11. Fr. Martin and others set up makeshift altars and celebrated Mass in the rubble. To direct first responders to Mass, firefighters spray-painted a sign that said “Body of Christ,” with an arrow pointing to the celebration.
