I was just thinking about two shows I liked from 2004 with similar total runtime that approached the same concept of technology and long distance relationships but very differently, capturing a specific moment in time. NY-LON and Noah & Saskia.
Post for 2004 series NY-LON, showing Rashida Jones and Stephen Moyer in New York.Poster for 2004 series Noah and Saskia, showing the titular leads, their avatars and imagined versions in a semi circle. They stand over the globe with the tagline, "who do you want to be?"

I put on Tank Girl for the first time as a bit of a laugh and...OMG...I honestly think it might be one of my top 10 favourite films, no joke. It is essentially using the style of live action looney tunes film to explore complex issues.

Myst. The joy of adventure games for me is exploring and building a narrative. It is so cold and abstract.

I found Prime had the original international theatrical version of Blade Runner available and decided to rewatch it. Honestly, I still think it works well even with the added ending.

In my rereading of X-men comics reached the end of the Grant Morrison run and I do think Planet X doesn't work but for different reasons than most. Magneto had been going to more extremes since Fatal Attractions and was prepping for war on Genosha before he was stopped.

Very specifically mid-00s to mid 10s comics Batman where he just every year would manipulate and alienate everyone around him, get people killed, but they would forgive him because "trauma" and "his heart was in the right place".

Avengers: Doomsday very much gives me the vibes of the actual comics crossover events: 1. This has too much to do it justice 2. 90% sure will end up being unsatisfied by the end and feeling like I wasted my time and money 3. But darn if doesn't hook me with all my fannish senses and want to see!

What an excellent idea, of course a Prime Minister should be chosen behind closed doors by a small elite, rather than a public debate and membership vote. In fact, why bother with a full election every 4 years? MPs clearly know what is best for everyone else and should be elected for life!
Guardian Live Text
Harriet Harman says Labour MPs, not party members, should choose next leader
Harriet Harman, the former Labour deputy leader, has said that she thinks Labour MPs, and not party members, should choose the next leader.

The party’s rules say, if there is a contest, all members get a vote.

But Harman told the Today programme this morning that, with the party in power, MPs should take the decision. She said:

The way you get to be prime minister, and the way you govern the country, is by having the support of the majority of party in parliament. So whoever’s prime minister has to have the support of Labour MPs.

And I think what should happen is that the three contenders – which is obviously Keir Starmer, who’s the prime minister, Andy Burnham, who’s the challenger, and Wes Streeting, who’s also a challenger – should be got in a room by the deputy leader of the Labour Party, Lucy Powell, and the chair of the parliamentary Labour party, Jess Morden, to agree a process whereby the Labour MPs choose who they they want.

The Amazing Digital Circus finale is indeed great. Non-spoilery notes (unless you are really good at guessing): - I cried...A LOT! - Two moments made the entire theatre audibly gasp, one about halfway, the other in post credits - a cheer went up when something was confirmed #TADS

A good understanding of my brain: I started watching Visions of Escaflowne casually and I just spent an hour pondering the fact that they chose to translate The Hanged Man into Italian as L'impiccato rather than the usual L'Appeso, and what it means for the themes. Even though it's probably nothing.
