I recognize the pain of thinking if I could only talk to them one more time. It is among the more familiar human laments. But that's just the thing it is a human problem to be endured not a technological problem to be sold. Our capacity for loss – in fact the necessity of losing and having lost – is what makes us who we are. Individually and collectively. There is no workaround. There will be no workaround. And every step toward preventing that or perverting that is an affront to our humanity. Why not just taxidermy nana and prop her up at the Texas Chainsaw Massacre dinner table? At least there's something real and tangible about that. Undeniable in its sacrilege. You should have to smell the dead when you disinter them.

What y'all might not know, the "Stanford experiment" has been disproved and the researcher discredited multiple times over the last 30 years. The kids involved at the time were like "this sucks, to hell with this." So this Netflix thing is basically a Mr Beast show.

Arborist is here today felling a lovely maple that's shaded the house for decades. Sadly, the winters haven't been kind and she's now more skeleton than tree. Small branches will go to a local fella for his meat smoker, the rest will heat our home. I took some farewell pics, she was a good tree. 🫡🌳💚
