I owe a good chunk of my career to @effinbirds.com and Swear Trek. "You worked with Effin' Birds/Swear Trek?!" is something I get asked regularly on shows or interviews - and my answer is usually some variation of "Yep! I wouldn't be here without them or Star Trek."

I've also gotten good enough and acquired credits that would qualify me to actually work on a show like Doctor Who and (the bring this full circle) Star Trek.

I also taught myself NLE software just to help @effinbirds.com run an April Fools' Swear Trek spinoff feed with Doctor Who. It got popular enough to get a C&D from the beeb, but a bunch of Who Writers and Directors convinced me to go back to film school and finish my degree. I'm a Film Editor now.

The proto-Effin’ Birds was my Tumblr “Swear Trek”. It opened a lot of doors for me and I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. I don’t have plans to revive it (one daily comic is enough work), just wanted to thank it for getting me here on this 60th anniversary of Star Trek.

Listen - I don't take it personally if a Lesbian doesn't wanna date me, but half the reasons cited ALSO apply to me, a bisexual person. It's like bisexuality in and of itself isn't the problem: it's something more nuanced. I'm partnered and not poly at the moment anyway, but still!

It was! The other half: If it's Sci-Fi, Fantasy, DCU or Western - Vancouver, Calgary or Edmonton. Comedies are also predominantly shot in Ontario, Quebec or the Maritimes. Hallmark - Ottawa

Yeah! That's probably the biggest show in production right now. A good rule of thumb - if it's horror or a crime/hospital procedural, there's a very good chance it films in Toronto

Oh absolutely. A lot of the other cable shows have caught up to HBO in that regard
